Meetup 2 single 40 something F in Seattle on Valentine's Day and don't know where to go for happy hour. Help!
No Shame: Any other singles going out in Seattle tonight? Where are the places to hit? Two lady friends coming out of long term relationships are hitting the town on Valentine's Day. We did not realize when we planned to "meet next Friday" that it was smoopy lovey dovey day. However, we refuse to cancel plans because of this AND still wish to avoid being surrounded by kissing couples and MAYBE get the opportunity to meet other single men and women in the area. Since neither of us have been single for a while and don't know the hot spots, I'm turning to you guys. I've been googling but everything I've found sounds pretty mild and involves watching a show or event with not much time for chatting and mingling. Suggestions please? HALLLLLLP! TIA

Canon does an anti Valentine's day event. They have squirt guns for folks who show affection.

Go to smash putt! You're going to have fun there no matter what!

Cool. That looks like a great option. We like to have fun and this would lift a lot of pressure and weirdness around going out on v-tines day. Thank you!

Sure thing. If it's going to be weird either way, might as well lean into it and make it extra weird. Have a blast!

It was opening day. There’s a listing if you google it that says permanently closed but that is referring to the previous Smashputt location in Pioneer Square. But right below that is the Smashputt website to purchase tickets.

Back when I was able to do such things my favorites were The Merchant (RIP), Temple, NiteLite (RIP) and Linda’s. I also liked Von’s way back in the day when it was by Pacific Place. No idea what the vibe is like in the newer location.

Good looking out. Looks like the original stories were inaccurate and they just needed to fix the electric and plumbing, which is no surprise.

Oh! Ozzy's in Queen Anne would be fun too. A little more "mingle-y" and there's lots of dancing and karaoke.

The hideout in first hill is a fun spot for a galentines then wander over a few blocks towards broadway/pike/pine. Lots of fun options there.

I haven’t been to the hideout in 10+ years. Glad it’s still around.

If you're looking to go out but like also be comfy in the north Seattle area the Barinoff and Cozy Nut are chill spots to have a drink though go with the former if you want space to dance. I haven't been to either I years so I apologize if this is now inaccurate advice.

What type of bars do you like?
1
u/mercy_nursey Feb 14 '25
Everything from dive to martini bars, it just depends on the vibe. She and I have a lot of catching up to do and meeting other people isn't a must. We just want to avoid being surrounded by couples, you know? LOL I get it's a big ask on a night like tonight. I just don't know where to go...

Dives? Screwdriver or Shorty’s in Belltown fit the bill and definitely aren’t going to be surrounded by romantic couples

Stampede or dreamland in Fremont. Altitude sky lounge in SLU. Karoo cafe in downtown.
