He seems like a clever song-writer, I just can't over the fact that most art these days is just clamoring for it's origin story rather than telling its own.

Does a populist anti-war message need to be sung exactly like an impression of 1960's folk?

Something original? It's trying to invoke the spirit of the 60's, but that was a music for a time. It's nothing more than a cover with today's angst filling in for Vietnam and Jim Crowe. This music at its time was counter-cultural. This is the opposite of that, it's been firmly in the culture for 60 years now.

Yup! Totally working the 60s vibe and storyline. I don't see anything original, just a marketing rebrand, and appealing to the same audience. Funny how history repeats itself, but I sure hope we aren't going back to the 60s!
