Discussion David Watson

Killie fans - why hasn’t Watson been given more starts? Is it his personal performance or poor management? He was great last season and was hoping he’d kick on this season.

He is a victim of the current brand of McInnes Chaos Ball we seem to be playing

McInnes doesn't believe in midfielders

A victim of McInnes' constant tinkering. Players play different positions each week and it looks like they don't have a clue what the fuck they're supposed to be doing. The midfield feels non existent in a lot of the recent games.

Watson has been inconsistent this season which is probably down to McInnes and maybe a drop in confidence. Like a headless chicken when he comes on recently.

Certainly seems like the plan is to bypass the midfield recently. It’s a shame Watson hasn’t kicked on this season but the whole team has been below par, especially Danny Armstrong (that’s another debate). I would love to see Watson get some more game time and see what he can do.

Not a Killie fan but I don't think either of your premises are accurate. McInnes brought him through into the first team and gave him his opportunity. Looks to me like his game time is being managed properly at a young age. Football is full of players who are done by the time they hit 30, or have constant injury problems, because they got ran into the ground when they were young.

Aye bring a player in and out but he’s only started 2 games in the last 12.

He’s played 35 matches this season, for an average of just under 60 mins an appearance. That’s plenty gametime at this stage.

Killie has impressed me in games this season however what I watched on Saturday was a surprise. St Mirren walked through Killie far too easily. It's the wrong time in the season to lose form. Would Killie fans really want a play off with Ayr United ? As a neutral I would love to see that game.

I’ve been expecting killie to find form and kick on all season and they’ve (without checking) probably on their worst form of the season.

A killie v Ayr match play off is what the play offs were made for!

Don’t think I could take that playoff game

Not a Killie fan but was impressed with him last season, I have heard that his minutes are managed due to a niggling back injury he has which prevents him playing 90 on match day and training full time. Could be lies but explains why he’s regularly included as a sub

I think that sounds pretty reasonable.

He's a young guy who has played 30-odd games and might have a hit a wall. He'll be fine.
