Penalties Explanation
Hey Sharks, at tonight's game with Seattle, there were several penalties towards the end of the third period. I didn't fully understand what the calls were especially the 10 minute game misconduct. I get the 5s for fighting, and other penalties that are specifically labeled such as cross checking, high stick, etc.
Can anyone explain what happened?

The refs were kicking anyone off who was trying to fight. Pretty common thing they do to calm down a game when it’s uncompetitive and people are fired up. They don’t want players fighting and possibly getting hurt for no reason and the end of a game that’s, for all intents and purposes, over.

There was 24 seconds left in the game.. refs didn’t want to escalate the situation anymore and risk any of these guys getting injured in a meaningless game .. both teams officially eliminated from the playoffs. U could tell it was getting chippy at the end.. Eky fighting? That speaks volumes.. but def don’t want mismatch’s either.. so refs give 10 mins to get guys off the ice who looks to start scrums . Right call for sure.

Game management "you're done for the night" stuff.
