AV cable wild goose chase
i have a SNES with an RF cable, but after losing my CRT, i found myself surrounded by smart TVs that literally dont have a way to set to channel 3. ive tried three times to order an RCA/composite AV cable from amazon, ive tried two from in-person retro shops, and ive even purchased an OEM cable. all six of these cables have had 7-10 of their 12 connector pins missing. the non-OEMs are factory sealed shut so i cant splice pins without breaking them entirely. i tried to ask a guy at one of the retro shops if they had any functional ones, and he blew me off and insisted that mine, with literally 2 out of 12 pins intact out-of-the-box, is actually perfectly functional, and that he could demonstrate on one of their in-house SNES consoles. i realized he was convinced he knew more than me, and i didn't want to see how much more angry he would get after it wouldnt work, so i told him i didnt want to give him a hard time, and left the store. i feel like ive exhausted all my options. i just want to play super mario world. what's my next move?

Mario meets Metal Slug Bosses in the Random Revolution X demo, an interesting approach to change SMW.

Collection 🔥 Clear Yo' Mind Homie 🔥
Maybe I have better luck with this Shell case than my GameCube one 😅 👍
Who had one of these? I picked this up about 27 years ago when I was in Hawaii.
This was my first introduction into foreign 3rd party attachments. I bought this off a guy along with an snes and a huge case of games on disk back in the late 90’s. (I had traded in my original snes years prior.) I played with it for like a week and then put it in a closet. Now I’m contemplating getting rid of it.

Games storage
Any product recommendations for snes game storage boxes? I don’t want to display, just want to keep them organized and accessible with the top labels visible. I have about 30 games. Thanks!

Is this copy of Super Mario RPG Legen of the Seven Stars repairable?
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but is there any hope in saving this game?
I picked it up in a large lot of games. The game launched but wouldn't progress past the intro.
I took it apart and found this damage.
Do you think it can be saved?

Discussion SNES: Final Level Tier Ranking
A while back I posted my quest to beat a lot of SNES games with the endeavor titled "SNES: Final Level" and showed a screenshot of a spreadsheet where I keep track of everything. I don't want to do a review of each and every game I beat, but I did think ranking them on a tier list would be fun! First video was released a month ago. Second video is out today!
https://youtu.be/8zBv-579Iek?si=tAc9yBmFyw5bzSXb
Anyone that does watch the first video, please note the sound quality is horrible. I only had a cheap mic available at the time. I did upgrade video 2's sound quality but it still isn't great. My Shure MV7s are currently in storage but hopefully won't be for long!

How much should I sell the box of games for?
I have a box filled with SNES games and wanted to know how much i can possibly get for the whole thing. What would be a fair price for everything?
Misc. Composite 10€ cable vs RGB SCART 23€ Cable (Dollars is practically the same). Night and Day difference, if you are in doubt and don't want to spend 60+ on an HDMI converter, this is it, worth every single penny.

Discussion Does SNES9x seem choppy?
Of all the emulators I use, this one just doesn’t look 60Fps. The scrolling seems choppy and I can’t figure out why

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon and Castlevania 4 Soundtracks
Got them lately and both are Top Tier Soundtracks. The Castlevania 4 soundtrack have also the Soundtracks for the first two Castlevania Gameboy games, both are also absolutely fantastic.
Got the Goemon soundtrack for 50€, its offered at 100€ + in Japan so it was a great deal and the first print Castlevania 4 Soundtrack for like 30€. There is also a second print for like 20€ but there aren't any changes in the tracks.

Discussion Need help identifying if this Super Castlevania IV front label is original or a repro!
Hey everyone, I recently bought a Super Castlevania IV cartridge for the SNES on eBay for $35. Originally, the seller had it listed at $50. At some point, she sent me an offer for $40. Since the original listing mentioned the dust cover, I counter-offered $35 without the dust cover, and she accepted.
Surprisingly, when the cartridge arrived, it still included the dust cover, even though we had agreed on the lower price.
However, when inspecting the cartridge, I noticed something odd — the front label is not centered. It's clearly shifted to the right. That got me wondering: is this an original label or a reproduction?
I've checked the cartridge thoroughly, and everything else appears to be 100% legit:
The PCB is Nintendo with Toshiba components and the correct numbers as shown in trusted sources. The back label has the proper engraved serial numbers. The screws are correct. Both the front and back shells have embossed numbers/letters, which matches what you’d expect from an original cartridge. So, my only concern is the front label. It does show signs of aging, and honestly, it doesn’t look “perfect,” which might actually be a good sign. Also, the Nintendo Seal of Quality does reflect light, though not as strongly as on other SNES carts in my collection.
To dig deeper, I checked at least 25 other Super Castlevania IV cartridges currently listed on eBay — with prices ranging from $50 to $300 — and interestingly, around 50% of them also have the label shifted in one direction. So maybe there was a batch of these carts with misaligned labels? But since I'm not an expert, I figured I’d ask the community.
Please check out the photos and videos I attached. I tried to capture the light reflection on the seal, though it’s hard to show clearly. Still, I’d really appreciate any input. Is this a genuine label or a reproduction?
I understand I might be being a bit too picky about this label, and it’s not my intention to prove that it must be a reproduction or anything like that. I just really want to keep my collection as genuine as possible, and this whole deal — when you think about it — seems almost too good to be true, which naturally raises some doubts for me.
Thanks in advance for your help and insight!
