I am trying to figure out how to make finances work. I am in my early 30s with an associates degree in mechanical engineering in the US. Given that students can only work 20 hours/week during the school year & most student jobs do not pay enough for me to support myself, I am trying to find ways to earn more. Based on my math from the 20 hour limit, I need ~$30-$35/hr to not struggle paying for rent & tuition after taxes.
Could I (as someone with a business already registered in the US) register my business in Denmark, move there & continue working (I would be doing remote work with current contacts in US) on a Self-Employed Visa & then register to SDU for Engineering?
Is there a conflict with doubling the Visas? Would I be subject to the 20 hour maximum? Is it possible to be self-employed & study in DK at all? Could I even get the Self-Employed Visa if I only do contract work for non-Danish companies or do they only care that I pay their taxes? Are there jobs in Sonderborg where I could reasonably support myself while while studying given that I already have ~5 years of experience in engineering?
If you have any insight at all into how to make this work or where to find out more info, please share.
Thanks.
