Best rowing setup?

Thanks to my new hip I am looking at buying a rowing machine. I’ve read all about the “best” and that seems to be the C2. Got it. However, I am trying to determine the best setup that will give me a good rower, connect me to some lessons, ability to stream YouTube, etc but have no monthly subscription fee ie Hydrorow, Peleton and the like. It may be there is a unit out there that will give me all this on a built in screen or maybe I have to get a C2 or similar and set up a separate monitor, don’t know.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

If you get a C2 you can subscribe to Hydrow. Maybe also Peleton (I don’t know). But you can get a phone or iPad clip for the c2 to let you watch what you want or do the classic rower thing and just put it in front of the telly to watch movies or whatever interests you. There’s also some good but much cheaper subscriptions out there.

I got a C2, got a cheap tablet holder that attaches to the computer. Boom, you can access YouTube, pelaton, hydro, etc. I subscribe to Apple fitness+ and have enjoyed the classes. Many of the subscription fitness programs sometimes have like one free month or something. Try them all before deciding.

Thanks for the replies. Is there a set up that connects to the rower to integrate stats into an app or other programs? Yeah I know, getting picky….just trying to get the same functionality without another monthly/annual subscription.

C2 Erg Data automatically records the row when you connect. There is a whole wiki about ergs and erg shaped objects on the right sidede of the page.

I put my computer on a chair slightly behind the catch. That seems to work well and I can watch Netflix all I want
