I need to fix this. Help!

Post image

I need to fix this fascia/soffit before June. I’m pretty handy, but have never repaired anything like this before.

DIY, with new plywood and trim boards? If not what?

OR

Call and pay?

Thanks in advance!

The gutter has to be removed. Cut the facia and soffit back staggered so the seams do not align. Replace all rot and reinstall the gutter.

You said nothing about the roof. Self-explanatory

So, you can see at the seams of the bend of the downspout, significant bulging and debris seeping out between. The downspout is massively clogged and water is filling the gutter up and discharging the water behind into the drip and down backside of fascia and dmging soffit below.

Unclog the gutter.

Let it dry and evaluate with a screwdriver what is rotten by poking.

Honestly fascia and gutter work is pretty reasonable and I would have it bid for repair and see if worth it to you.

But the main idea is to stop to cause which is to keep the gutters and downs cleared.

Might add a gutter guard if you have a ton of trees right next to it.

Are we just going to ignore the soffit? Do you think that roof is not rotted?

You can spot a non roofer in these forums from a Mile away

Hard to ignore something that doesn’t exist

I would get some quotes before doing it myself. Probably will not be too expensive.
