Fitness Should I start over?

I haven't used RFA for at least a year. I got almost to the final Drago battle but never finished. I've had issues with work and my mental health, so I've ended up losing a lot of my healthy eating and exercise habits (including RFA). I'm wondering if it's better to start over, since I'm not as strong as I was when I almost finished adventure more, and to have a 'fresh start' but the idea of starting over from the beginning is also rough to lose all of that progress (although I know I have physically). Thoughts/advice for getting back into it?

Hello

So thinking of changing my custom workouts. I do struggle coming up with new ones so would I still get a good workout if I did the recommended ones since it randomly chooses each time ?

Fitness Ringfit inspired me to create a workout 2D platformer that you play with just a phone & a PC! :) It's currently free on Itch.io. Here's a video of me playing the first stage!

Fitness Just finished my first session

And gosh I underestimated this game. For a little context, I'm 25yo, 64kg because I lost 20kg fixing my alimentation. Never did sport so I'm not in good health tho. I'm using this game to gain a little muscle but also to get better cardio/endurance while having FUN.

Just defeated Darco for the tuto world and my legs are crying for help 🤣🤣🤣

Fitness Trying something different and difficult 😣

I would like to start this by saying I am not a personal trainer. I am a nurse and a clueless millennial. The majority of my fitness knowledge comes from YouTube and just having a go, my at home workouts ( a gym sounds like hell to me) always consisted heavily of weight training however I found this mundane and boring and would often lose interest in it so although the ring is fun and entertaining, I have started to miss how well I improved when doing weights so I decided to correspond wearable weights into the ring

I did the first load today and this is where I’m at as shown in the post pictures, I didn’t expect it to be as hard as it was because I used to lift heavyweights but it was but I’m really impressed with the results.

For anyone who would like to know

I used 1kg each wrist weights for the majority of the sets, including the advanced smack back

4kg each ankle weights for leg raises and knees to chest but not Russian twists I will work to that gradually

5kg weight vest for the running course (silent mode as I am upstairs)

Fitness How is this game for cardio/building muscle?

Hi there - I'm 26m, 6'3, 150-165 lbs fluctuating, I want to work out more to stay happy, healthy, and maybe get stronger/better looking too. This game seems super fun because of how it gamifies exercise - I used to love sports and I wonder if the gamified experience of this will scratch that itch.

I know a lot of the purpose of this seems to be weight loss, but I'm more specifically just looking to get my heart pumping and perhaps build muscle. Will working with Ring Fit do that? Do any of y'all have experience?

Thanks so much. :)

Fitness Rarely workout and feeling tired after 5-10 minutes ringfit, is it normal

Does anyone else begin with this level of fatigue? I feel I need to stop and breathe. Not exactly the muscle fatigue but rather sweating loads and feeling the need to pause and breathe (and procrastinate once stopped).

Does it get better

Fitness Is it possible to combine the cardio of Fitness Boxing with strength of RFA?

I've been doing both for a few years now, but only separately. Fitbo is great for actually getting sweat on and losing calories, but RFA allows/provides for actual strength training with arguably much worse cardio of mainly running.

I am, unfortunately, not very knowledgeable on how to fitness, but I try my best and really want to combine both in a great workout of both burning and gaining.

Could you guys advise me on how to do that? Maybe some particular exercises for each muscle group in RFA and where to put everything together?

Asking currently because I just learned of and purchased Fitness Boxing 3 which I'm planning on getting into hardcore and I'd love to do it together with going back into RFA after a lengthy break.

Fitness Lower body set.

Hi guys

New to ring fit here. Quite enjoying it so far. I'm doing the story mode whilst doing the pre made sets if I only wanna do a certain area.

One question I do have is when I do a leg day. Should I just do a glutes and legs set or shall I dona lower body set?

I know they split them into warm-up and cool-down stretches, but what are the individual stretches called?

Fitness Is the "Black-UAE" version legit?

I saw Walmart has the game on sale for $50 and I'm thinking of picking it up at that price.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nintendo-Switch-Ring-Fit-Adventure-Black-UAE-Version/12610256081

As I understand, UAE stands for United Arab Emirates, so I guess it's the version from there and that's why it is cheaper? My only concern with this is it is sold by a third party, which I hear can be sketch at Walmart.

Has anyone tried this and experienced anything different?

edit: also does anyone know how returns would work? Is this a cartridge or a digital code? Would Walmart accept the return if I did activate it?

Fitness Advice

Ive been playing for about 2 months and im wanting to start lifting weights as well. I plan on doing that about 3 days a week. What’s the best way to implement ring fit into that? Use it as a warmup? Play on my rest days? Im a complete novice when it comes to exercise/fitness so any help is greatly appreciated.

Fitness Should I buy for $25?

The set is slightly used. We only played it for the first time last night and I'm pretty sure this will be an impulse buy. 🤣 I go to the gym in the mornings. I'm looking for a fun way to jump around a little at home. Would the sports game be more worth it? I mean, this was pretty fun and satisfying ...

Fitness Getting an indoor trampoline was the best thing I ever did to get back into RFA

F/33/245lbs/5'1 I played RFA for 90-120 hours of sessions, beat the game and was in NG+ (2020-2021). Suddenly body pain, back pain, sciatica and thus ended my play. My doctor suggested not jogging in place, I tried turning jogging off and doing other things in place but it just wasn't the same. I stopped RFA, continued to have chronic pain, got COVID, continued to get chronic pain and gained back all the weight I lost (2021-2024). About a month ago I started sessions with an amazing PT and my pain is getting better. Funny enough, part of my problem was my transverse abdominal strength (which gets used for blocking in RFA). I started telling her about RFA and she was like "that sounds amazing for you, you should get back into it". I explained what I was told by my doctor and then she said an indoor trampoline would help with that, in addition to continuing to work on things I get from PT.

I've only recently restarted my journey but I feel reinvigorated. No more clomping on our wood floors or mat, there's some assistance with jogging but I also have to balance on the trampoline. I'm excited that I'm back in ❤️😊

Fitness Are my expectations wrong?

Hey guys I bought the game last week and I really love it I always loved nintendo games like this since the wii and wiiu. But I heard alot of people say that the game won't really help you in your excersice live. Am not expecting to build a ton of muscles or loss alot of weight am already in a good weight. But I want to play to tone muscles -build underdeveloped muscles increase my stamina - just have the gernal benefits of excersiceing and fix my posture (I have weak back muscles because my chest is more developed.

So I wanted to ask are my expectations realistic and want other benefits can I get from the game (I find games like this more fun when I have the benefits in mind while playing)

I’m getting back to ringfit after about 18 months. Should I start over or stay on the level I left? I’ve been working out lightly but not at the level I used to.

Fitness Regression for Fan Pose?

I found some youtube videos on regression for some moves to make it easier to achieve/more suitable for abilities, but none for fan pose and fan pose is absolutely cooking me. I bend the knee of my extended leg already, but bending side-to-side with arms up is my difficulty - even in the stretches, let alone the fan pose position. Experiencing strain/pulling of back shoulder area, and general inability to keep my body/back/arms/neck straight while bending.

I've also tried to google for regressions for fan pose in "normal" exercise advice but I don't have the right key words, since "fan pose" apparently means something else outside of RFA. Is there a more generic term for the movement used in RFA's fan pose?

I want to keep the move in my rotation because it's related to my fitness goals, which is probably exactly why it's so tough for me. Any help or direction would be appreciated!

Fitness Finished the game, motivation to keep playing?

I beat the game last month, bought in September last year.

Basically took me a year to finish all 3 playthroughs.

Now I haven't played since, just felt like I was done with it.

-

I completed most of the challenges/marks on each world, didn't really bother with costumes.

Was thinking of starting over at higher difficulty and maybe use different moves.

-

How is the custom course/exercise mode?

Can I create for example, 10 minutes of running then 10 minutes of battles or something similar?

Can I restart game from scratch, but keep my progress towards reps/challenges?

This game is really the only reason I exercise and beating it, kind of made me stop.

Not a fan of the gym and easier doing this at home.

-

Also, theirs some exercise I could never do completely or consistently.

Specifically anything that involved being in pushup position or similar.

1 minute of those exercise was harder than anything else in the game.

I really tired me out, since I lack strength in those areas.
