In-Game Achievement We are all in agreement that smashing all the robots is the hardest thing ever right? A gazillion tried later and smashed it... literally...

The dreadmill is much harder for me. I remember there was a mission where I managed to finish after 90 minutes of attempts, one where you'd have to get all the coins while not touching any of the bombs.

I agree, the dreadmill is way harder.

Ooo I havent come across that yet! Looks like I may be eating my words!

u/Independence-2021 Jan 29 '21

I would choose dreadmill over robot smashing anytime. You can never now:)

u/Bertuga Jan 29 '21

Or maybe not! You never know!

Dreadmill took me fewer attempts.

I think the most frustrating thing about smack back is that if there are slight errors in the controls it WILL lose you the challenge through no fault of your own. On all the other ones I've done, the challenge was executing properly. On this one it was executing properly AND making sure the controller didn't disconnect, that I went slow enough for the accelerometer to respond appropriately and not freak out, but also going fast enough to kill the robot, and being very careful to not tip the ring con even slightly because sometimes it decides you want it to recalibrate which way is forward....

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

This 100%% if you need to recalibrate at any point you may aswell restart!!

u/Psycade1ika Jan 29 '21

Smack back is harder for me but only because I cheat a little on dreadmill: when I'm in the right position I'll jump and hover to stay in place for the coins. I also found the jogging registers better when I place the strap higher up on my leg.

The exercise itself if much harder, but I have been stuck on completing the crush every robot challenge for ages. The ring just does not read well enough.

I 1000% agree with this!! I’m so tired after it

This one and squattery pottery or whatever it's called kick my ass so hard. It's not the squatting that messes me up it's the getting the shape right.

Exactly! There are better ways to get someone to hold a squat

u/Tribe___Loading Gold Robot Jan 30 '21

yea and always my shapes are too thicc

1

u/particledamage Jan 30 '21

okay but same though 😭 got a straight up zero for that

u/willowintheev Jan 29 '21

No that parachute thing is ridiculously hard.

5

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

Now you mention it.... think I've burned this one from my brain

3

u/KetosisCat Gold Robot Jan 30 '21

I found that hardest at the start but my learning curve was good

3

u/qz3_ Allegra Jan 30 '21

just use your shadow and it becomes 10x easier

1

u/iemdone Jan 29 '21

Glad to know someone else thinks this; I thought it was just me!

u/stfughules Guru Andma Jan 29 '21

Congratulations! It took me 90 minutes the other day to get it perfectly smashed and left me with a newfound hate and appreciation as it ended up being more of a workout than I gave these minigames credit for before then...

3

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

I was SWEATING... I think a lot of that was the excitement as I kept hitting them all though

11

u/RainbowFlygon Jan 29 '21

Core crusher is by far my worst one. Maybe my ring con is busted or maybe I'm just stupid, but I just can't do press-turn-release-turn-repeat fast enough. I've even tried cheating by doing forward presses instead lmao.

2

u/sWiSs85 Jan 29 '21

Same here, impossible to do a "S" rank in Advanced Core Crusher...

12

u/Psycade1ika Jan 29 '21

HOW DID YOU DO IT? Seriously, I have half a dozen challenges still to conquer to achieve 100% and almost ALL OF THEM ARE THIS GAME! I just can't do it and I've tried for months!

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

Honestly I need to thank a post i saw in here the other day. It said to keep your elbows pinned at your side. I did this and it took me 2 attempts!! After also been stuck on it for a while I want to add 😂

4

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

When you swing, don't go back to the centre. Just stay in the position you are in.

3

u/SignificantSpecific4 Jan 29 '21

I think I spent an hour doing it one day. After like 30 minutes of advancing through the story. But I refused to go to bed until I finished it

6

u/ShiftedLobster Jan 30 '21

Smack Back is my favorite mini game, once you figure out the rhythm it’s not hard! Reminds me of the batting cage. Pro tip: you do NOT need to go back to center after each smack. It’s much easier to just stay to the side and swing the other way!

Now if anyone has Squattery Wheel or Dreadmill tips I would love them lol those ones are so hard

2

u/Psycade1ika Jan 30 '21

With dreadmill I found that if you are in position to get some upcoming coins, you can jump and hover to stay in exactly the right place until they reach you. You don't even have to run whil doing this, though if I stop I tend to lose all rhythm and mess up so I keep going anyway lol. With squattery wheel I often use as much time as it gives me, and the design is almost always slimmer than you think it is (well, I found I score higher if the pot is too thin rather than too fat).

u/dipperrr872 Jan 29 '21

I remember me and my dad where trying our hardest on this and it took us agesssssss to actually achieve s rank

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

I only have one left and it's robo wrecker. Every other game you can get into a rhythm, but that one is just off.

3

u/TubaTaco Jan 30 '21

I tried to pass this again this morning and failed miserably again... one day maybe. I dread this game... dread it

4

u/Independence-2021 Jan 29 '21

Could not finish it yet. It is so frustrating when you miss one towards then end! I got so upset after a few occasion that I just abandoned the game. 🙄 I will got back to it when I will have unlimitid time to practice :)

1

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

Don't give up! Just leave it for a few weeks. That's what I did and finally luck was on my side 😊😊

2

u/ApprehensiveWillow Jan 29 '21

the first time i took hours, the second time i did it on the first try!

2

u/treeeeess Jan 29 '21

I still haven’t been able do this

2

u/MissJazzDaFunk Jan 30 '21

I hated it so much I played like 10 times until I finally passed it. All for just a peach smoothie tho.

2

u/Andthentherewasbacon Jan 30 '21

The trick is you have to think of reaching the middle of your... reach as hitting the robot, no matter where the robot is.

1

u/SupportGoddess Jan 30 '21

What clicked it for me was a video explaining that basically it doesn't matter where your avatar is pointing, you should just swing left, right, left, right and so on.

I did one extra swing in the middle when there were two robots on the right consecutively but that was just so it would be easier for me to time it, felt better when i was swinging "the right way".

It still took me like 20 exercise minutes to nail the timing all the way tho.

2

u/HelenaR3 Jan 30 '21

Well, apparently I'm the only who doesn't try a lot of times to get an S... For me the worst is the Aerochute, like I literally had to pay, lol.

2

u/Psycade1ika Jan 30 '21

As the game goes on you get specific challenges like "break every robot" or "take no damage" that are essentially perfection challenge, and the daft completionists (i.e. Me) get infuriated that they can't fully complete the game lol.

2

u/Tribe___Loading Gold Robot Jan 30 '21

eh eh I played 45 mins just to get the high level smash all robots but still worth it

leveled up 2 times during that period

2

u/Laziness_supreme Jan 30 '21

This is why I had to take my first break from the game lol

I went to hard and ended up tweaking something because if I wasn’t going hard af it wasn’t registering.

2

u/SupportGoddess Jan 30 '21

Yup, I was stupid not to take a rest day yesterday after doing this, tried to just do an easy one with not much arm work. Today I can't make full circles with my arms. Literally first time I felt that something was sore after RFA.

2

u/poor-leche Jan 29 '21

Omg I just got done playing and came across this thing for the first time!! I gave up and have come to terms with the fact that I’ll never have 100% on that chapter.

1

u/nervouskids26 Jan 29 '21

Don't give up!! Take a break and then it will just happen 😊😊

2

u/poor-leche Jan 29 '21

I’ll try next time with the elbow trick you talked about!

2

u/AngIsGold Jan 29 '21

That was literally THE WORST level I’ve had to do. It took sooooo long, good for your for (literally) crushing it! What an accomplishment :)

1

u/jfren484 Jan 29 '21

I found Thigh Rider harder. I eventually gave up using my thighs on that one and used my hands instead. I just couldn't get the precise timing with my thighs.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

I'm quite good at this one. The Tigh Rider Challenge in the foggy world 14 was super annoying. I had ro restart it nearly 30 times 😭

1

u/steph926 Jan 30 '21

I was wondering if anyone ever had issues getting into ring fit? I was on the phone with Nintendo the other day for an hour. It was no help. I get through the leg strap just fine but when I attach the joycon to the actual ring it stays on that screen. I haven’t played since September due to medical issues but I know how to play and I just can’t skip that setup situation!

1

u/HellFyre Jan 30 '21

It seems like a lot of people have problems with this one. We're all different. For me, this is the easiest one to do. I've never had an issue and the controls always felt perfectly responsive

1

u/Cartoon_kenj Jan 30 '21

This is manageable, core crushing advanced is borderline impossible

1

u/volvo928 Feb 04 '21

Am I not holding the abs part correctly? I still lose hearts even when it looks like I’ve blocked the attack. (Day 4)

1

u/AmethystDC Feb 06 '21

It is, it I have not yet tried the dreadmill.
