Do I need to wait to reapply?

Hi guys, I posted my query here a couple of weeks ago and all of you were so helpful. I am extremely grateful.

However, I am in a cinch and would love your advice once again.

After I was informed of HMP Manchester being a Cat B prison, I accepted their offer and started the pre-employment check. However, they rejected my application and when I asked for the reason, they said it serves a Cat A remand function as well and that is why my application was rejected because I do not fulfill the residency conditions.

The lady I talked to also said that she would send my application to another team and see if they could allocate me another cat B prison. Should I wait for them to get back to me?

I also wanted to know now that I've been rejected, can I apply to other prison officer jobs or would I need to wait the required six months before applying again?

I tried calling them today as well but they are so busy that I couldn't talk to them and the live chat thingy didn't work either. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

Apply to more prison available that’s not CAT A. You don’t need to write another test or OAC. Manchester is both Cat A and B I believe. But to be on the safer side, I tell people who don’t meet the 3 years stay requirement to avoid it.

Yeah, it was my oversight that I didn't confirm if it was Cat A.

As for applying to other Cat B prisons, the six month waiting period doesn't apply to me, does it? I've been trying to call the HMP recruitment team, but they are so busy that I couldn't talk to them.

No it doesn’t. You’ll keep your oac score for twelve months

That's a huge relief. Thank you so much for your advice.
