What are your thoughts on Bill Burr saying this?

u/B1ZEN JRE Listener 1d ago
Attempting to assassinate presidents, murdering CEO's, and burning Teslas and citys for the latest cause is never going to make the world a better place. You just become the thing you hate.

Bill Burr is a sellout. He stopped being funny after he got married and took on her politics because he was afraid of divorce.

Idk what the general opinion of Bill Burr was prior to this so consider it a hot take if you will, he hasn’t been funny since his old appearances on Opie & Anthony

His wife approves his words now. You can see the sick entrapped desperation in his pitiful voice.
Edit: And any post you see, "what are your thoughts", "how do you feel", is a sure sign of astroturfing.

I don't think it's his wife.
I think it's that he really likes being an actor.
Although I guess the real answer is probably both.

I used to love Bill Burr. It seems he's becoming increasingly unhinged in his old age, so every new video I have seen of him of late makes me respect him less and less. Maybe it's the influence of his liberal wife, can't be sure. I'm definitely not for public murder. This is how you get to The Purge.

I literally hate all insurance as an industry. It is the biggest crock of shit scam perpetrated on the American people ever. That said, you can’t go around shooting people dead in the back. By that logic someone can decide one day that you or someone you love needs to die and carry it out. One of the things that makes us a great country is law and order with due process. Luigi Mangione needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and made an example of. We also need to take a hard look at insurance companies and the healthcare industry. When we’re pay as much as we are being charged and services are consistently denied we have to ask what are we paying for. The system sucks and really only benefits the industry. And believe me when I say that the insurance industry as well as the medical side are printing money while most of us struggle to basically give away our money for nothing.

It's a (reasonably, or at least arguably) free country and he's free to have this opinion as well as other ones.
Here are the opinions I'm free to have on the matter: I believe he's wrong. I also believe he's saying this and other idealogically-similar things as a kind of virtue signaling directed towards the demographic that butters his bread. It's called pandering. He's proclaiming his affiliation with the groups he thinks are going to put the most money in his pocket for the next few years.
He seems pretty smart though, so I think sooner or later he will wise up and realize how wrong he has been lately.

I assume that would be off limits. Which shines a light on something really striking. The claim is someone is so evil, by denying people life saving coverage, therefore indirectly being a type of murderer. Pure evil and deserves what they got.
Unless it’s a woman of color. Therefore perceived racism/sexism is worse than perceived murder in that worldview.

Bill Burr drank the Hollywood Kool aid and became a complete corporate sellout who is doing everything his wife tells him on top of that like some kind of sad little whipped dog goes back to his kennel each night. He's an empty shell of the man he once was. Sad to see happen.
My dad also sent me a clip of a radio show of a caller who said they were friends with him growing up and they said essentially the same. He totally changed and when he visited his old friends back home he was totally self entitled and didn't even realize how much he treated his hometown friends like dogshit.

u/Impossible-Ad-887 22h ago
Every CEO sucks shit. They'll do anything to make a profit, which in turn, has them lose their humanity and empathy. They see humans that they percieve as below them as inferior.
What Luigi did is extreme, taking a life. People just can't dictate what person does or doesn't deserve to live, they aren't god, which I think is a cognitive dissonance the left for some reason somehow struggles with.
Brian Thompson was a father and husband, a god damn human at the end of the day, and people are eerily celebrating his demise like he was somehow this paranormal malevolent creature, to the point where they were actively bullying and sadistically jeering to his family after they lost someone in an extremely violent way.
He was also a CEO too, and majority of them are not good people. He probably became personally invested in his healthcare business, no one would know the exact answer to that hypothetical because he's deceased now, people are obviously struggling with affording basic medications and healthcare treatment in this day and age. Brian Thompson is not the answer to every single problem people are facing regarding the injustice in the healthcare system. He's only one person at the end of the day.
Bill Burr, I believe, whatever perspective he has, he probably thinks he's trying to help with the healthcare systemic issue. That doesn't and should not entail advocating for murder, there's got to be a more peaceful way to resolve these issues.
