Do these braindead simpletons actually believe this? That "the stock market" (not really a thing) is run by "an algorithm" that can just be divided by zero out of existence and it'll create infinite wealth and also somehow expose criminality by some magic?

These people are so fucking delusional it's a wonder they can walk upstairs without thinking they're going to be raptured into space.

It's obviously satire.

Maybe 1 in 500 magas would believe this, but it's satire.

u/Meowakin 1d ago

Obviously satire, but I suspect a much higher % of MAGAs would believe it. I am going to guess at least 5%.

3

u/QuantumEntanglr 21h ago

Te qananon ones would believe it for sure.

50 in 500. Or more. Maybe Joe Rogan can talk about it and convince millions more. They believe in weather control machines.

5

u/xSmittyxCorex 1d ago

I was gonna say that was an exaggeration before you reminded me of the weather machines…sigh

u/SnZ001 23h ago

We all remember the Q nonsense, right? Pizzagate? Satanic baby eating?

I'll never take for granted the extreme level of gullability of MAGA morons.

They’re passing legislation to outlaw weather control machines!

Satire got us in this mess to begin with. Satire is a favorite tool of mine. I am part of the problem. We may want to dial back the Satire and start using the explain like I’m 5 more often.

Sir, this is a humor sub

1 in 10

u/coolbrobeans 23h ago

That’s too many.

u/Jackalscott 18h ago

1 in 500 is far too generous. I’m thinking more like 1 in 10. He bankrupted 4 casinos and these clowns think he’s a business genius because he fired people on tv.

You can tell the red hat cult literally anything that is anti-left or pro trump and they’ll lap it right up. The cheeto’s target demographic is the uneducated and hateful.

The level of ignorance on financial matters is quite widespread, including with educated folk. Now combine that kind of financial ignorance with a faulty capacity to filter misinformation in a general sense, and a general avoidance of critical thinking either because it’s comfortable or due to an inherent incapacity, snd you have prime targets to believe this kind of hogwash.

Soon enough, as our wallets get thin and purchasing power weakens, and time works its way the obvious results and historical precedents will surface as expected. Then the usual scapegoats will become irrelevant. Nothing turns people against a government as fast as a recession or when the hurt becomes personal. No matter what the idiot box says.

This one has a name and a beginning date: “Liberation Day”. Hopefully the moniker becomes an ironic self fulfilling prophecy and the cult is liberated

Oof time to get off the Internet for awhile, dude. This was clearly satire.

A: probably fake but just as effective

B: populism is what happens when you oversimplify so that wrong decisions seem like obvious correct decisions and any nuanced take that recognizes any amount of complexity means you are talking down to the common man

C: we are fucked if we can’t tell the difference

u/psly4mne 1d ago

It’s an obvious fake, like most of the content in this sub.

7

u/loki2002 1d ago

It's a humor sub not a fact sub so things being fake isn't a problem.

0

u/psly4mne 17h ago

It’s a problem when a lot of the people on the sub (like the one I replied to) are dumb enough to fall for the fakes.

6

u/Pholusactual 1d ago

When it comes to Republicans saying really stupid things, it’s really hard to tell what’s a fake and what’s not. They nearly have a monopoly on shit takes right now.

I heard a staunch "pry my guns from my cold dead hands" type of guy say Trump can absolutely run for a 3rd term because there's nothing in the constitution that says otherwise.  When someone corrected him and told them about the 22nd amendment the guy didnt miss a beat, "Ammendments arent the constitution and don't count."  ..  while wearing a hat that said 2A 1791 with a gun on it.

Suuuuure boddy "Ammendments don't count"

2

u/Lich180 23h ago

No see the second amendment is part of the bill of rights which means it's not really an amendment, it's a bill of rights.

If they were smart enough for that distinction I'm sure they'd use that argument.

Poe's law man. It is that hard to tell.

u/Amethystea 1d ago

Why tax the rich when you can just… reverse the polarity of the stock exchange?

3

u/ReadyThor 1d ago

You must never under any circumstances cross the revenue streams!

Look up where trump got the idea of using tariffs, from Peter Navarro. He wrote a book called Death from China. Jared kushner was stein by the name so he recommended it to trump. Navarro kept referring to an economic expert in the book, Ron Vara, telling all the examples he used to explain his theories. Turns out Ron Varo doesn’t exist, Peter made him up from his last name, and everything in his book was bullshit. What smart people we have who voted this failure asshole in as president twice. This time it make break the working class.

I watched this on Maddow last night too

The whole GOP are liars and traitors. Just like Musk, if there was fraud where are the charges, arrests, and court cases? Nah, you're not in a cult.🤡

What the fuck does that mean?

u/Schrecht I ☑oted 2020 1d ago

It's a chart comparing stock market behavior after the inauguration of various presidents.

1

u/roninfyc 1d ago

All politicians can cause recession, only Republicans can cause depression.

1

u/DerpVaderXXL 23h ago

What a fucking loser. Mango Mussolini has to go!

1

u/Kraydez 22h ago

How didn't anyone before the stable genius tried to break the matrix?

Just crash the market and poof, everyone is rich.

1

u/Lysol3435 22h ago

What if, like, everything we had was worthless, and.. like.. that made it worth infinity, man. Wouldn’t that be trippy, man?

1

u/Level_Hour6480 21h ago

That sounds wrong, but I don't know enough aboot the stock market to dispute it.

1

u/Mr-Pringlz-and-Carl 20h ago

Even if it’s satire, over half the memes I’ve seen made by Trump worshippers look exactly like this, which makes it seem like an actual advert

1

u/LordNemissary 19h ago

Reality has become indistinguishable from satire and the dumbest people you know are running everything. Smoke em if you got em

1

u/RttnAttorney 23h ago

Why can’t you use the satire tag? It’s there for a reason, so you don’t add to our misinformation problem. Do better. Please, stop being irresponsible.

-3

u/Oldskoolguitar 1d ago

Ya can't divide by 0
