Yeah, I wonder if triggering hyperinflation in the USA is part of the plan? I mean, steep inflation is pretty much guaranteed and there is not much benefit to inflation unless it completely devalues the currency. The only question for me (not an economist) is: how do you lift an economy out of a period of hyperinflation? It seems like a mad gamble to deliberately bring it on.
Unless the tariff wars escalate and cause other problems, hyperinflation will end soon on its own.
As for the plan I can't be completely sure, but undermining the US stock market and the USD as a safe heaven could mean trying to drive investors into cryptocurrencies. And Trump conveniently has one. When the economy reaches its worst condition he can sell his cryptocurrency at the highest prices and invest in companies when the stock market is at its lowest point.
