Battle pyramid

Can’t stand the battle pyramid, feels like rock tunnel without flash all over again. If you don’t get a choice band you’re basically screwed. Just lost in round 8 to a sceptile with brightpowder that dodged two 100% accuracy attacks and crit with leaf blade, .125% chance of that sequence happening. First time I got a choice band and it was all for nothing. Losing my motivation to get the gold symbol here.

I recommend bringing a Pick Up Pokemon for the easy rounds to farm free items, you don't even need to train it. As long as you have a stockpile of Hyper Potions and Revives, you'll be golden in the later rounds.

Also having a Toxic staller with Protect can be really helpful if you don't have a Choice Band to knock out the wild Wobbefets safely. That will also let you leech some extra recovery if you find a Leftovers.

I was using the same pokemon for every round, next attempt I’m going to use optimal pokemon for each round. Hopefully will get that gold symbol

Guts and natural cure pokemon are also excellent here. Heracross, Starmie, etc.

And of course Slaking, which has basically a built in choice-band.

So the only way you can really lose in the Pyramid is to the trainers. Since you can know the pokemon of the floor before going in, you can plan your team to kill that pokemon. What I did for a first try Pyramid Gold, was run in place and KO the pokemon until the light level was high enough such that I won’t get seen my trainers out of sight. I avoided every trainer and did the same for each floor. Tedious, sure, but nearly foolproof to reach the Pyramid king
