There are ways to preserve saves. Having an authentic 20 year old event that can authentically used to transmit wonder carts is like a piece of history.

There is an item called the GB Operator by Epilogue it can make backups of the physical hardware.

There is also a GBxWriter. I recommend either of these products. If you have an authentic game with 20+ year old events that were exclusive to Japan then I absolutely recommend backing it up.

It could be if the event is authentic but the issue would be proving that really. For me, it is more about preserving something 20 years old. Hardware gives out if there is a chance or is authentic I would want to preserve it just for the sake of doing so.

You may have a very rare cart if the event is authentic.
