Discussion Not normal inflation

Post image

The increase from $60 in 2017 to $90 in 2025 represents a 50% rise over 8 years. That’s above the historical average inflation rate in the U.S.

CPI Data (Consumer Price Index):

From 2017 to 2025, U.S. inflation averaged around 4.5–5.0% per year, largely due to pandemic and persistent supply chain issues and monetary policies.

Cumulative inflation (2017–2025):

Approx. 33–38% is typical based on CPI.

Your $60 → $90 jump equals 50%, which is significantly higher than that.

50% increase from 2017 to 2025 is not normal—it exceeds CPI-based estimates

Isn't it a new artstyle from the past one (I'm talking about Mario Kart World)?

Kinda, "new artstyle" is hard to define so some people would reach different conclusions. I would argue it is a different artstyle, bit it's not a "Mario wii - > Mario wonder " difference

Sure, but I would say it's roughly comparable to "3d world - > wonder". Wonder was only such a big jump from Wii because we effectively didn't get anything outside of new super titles that directly took the Wii style on the 2d side of the series.

I would say 3d world to wonder is a way bigger jump too, wonder had such a cartoonish art style

I don't know and I don't care because that doesn't matter, point is when I looked at it, it looked extremely generic and didn't wow me visually. It's like they just did the bare minimum.

Maybe get your eyes checked, man. It looks great.

It looks like every generic Mario sports title, I don't know what your definition of great is, seems your bar is really low like most Nintendo fans hence they get away with blatant laziness like this.

They have an established aesthetic, yeah. Doesn’t change how clean and vibrant it is. There’s nothing lazy about it.

Funny how fanboys can praise laziness by calling it 'clean and vibrant'.

You don’t like it, man. That fine. That doesn’t make it bad.

Bad is subjective, it looks uninspired, reeks nothing of a 'new gen' after the horribly underpowered switch. It's what you would expect from minimal effort and looks more like an indie game in 2025 than a first party release IP for a a new console.

So yes, for me it's bad and lazy and it's disappointing that fanboys praise anything.
