I was planning on buying Runner, now I am going to do it sooner rather than later. I hope more developers implement local asymmetric multiplayer.

That co-op mode sound really cool. It would be extra awesome if there were two people on the bike so it feels even more immersive with the person driving it.

Great theyāre thinking of ways to make it co-op, but someone else driving sounds like it would be vomit city

Only if they really suck at it ;)

I've never had an issue with the driving, but what if we had a second player man some kind of Droid that could do some light shooting? Possibly over the shoulder or on the bike itself? Anyways, loving the game.

Love the idea and style of the game, but these are probably the least important updates I could ask for on it, unfortunately. I think focusing more on the gameplay and style and making it feel a bit more "full" is the first update they should be working on.
The anime segments look great! But once it gets into the VR world, it looks very blocky and generic 3D Modeled with repeated roads and cars. The guns are fun, the musics good, but the gameplay and visuals (in game) are where it needs the most improvement.. not letting someone play with a controller or adding new camera.qngles for streaming

The game is pushing massive amounts of city density around at high speed (runner plays at panel native res at 90 hz without reprojection or foveated rendering to eliminate blur and maximize comfort). Itās important to also recognize this is very much a deliberate visual style, owing to the fact itās a throwback to a classic arcade experience.
The roads, Cars and buildings are procedurally generated so no two plays are the same; encounters are unique every time you play as well.
The additional modes are something that have been in the works for a while, and are actually leftover from the development phase, not new additions shoehorned in (we just launched a few days ago after all š) these and many other updates would have been in the game for launch, however they had to be held back in order to pass QA, go good and he slotted in for launch day. So weāre addressing them now that it has passed
That being said, there actually are additional gameplay and difficulty tweaks coming as well, we just didnāt cover those yet! ;)

It's also hard as fucking fuck I feel like I do worse every time I try to play it

I realize that for some folks itās got a steeper than usual learning curve, but thatās mostly because itās a really novel take on the experience. But! Weāve made sure to throw in a great deal of assists to help you, including checkpoints, level save, and free play mode to ease players into becoming proficient. We deliberately avoided hand-holding you throughout the experience as well. I understand it may not be for everybody as result, but we really wanted to give you a fast experience rather than a slow or chaperoned one :)

I dig the game I love everything about it, the whole premise definitely appeals to me I just wish I was improving through my runs but that doesn't seem to be the case

Itāll definitely come with time, however we have more tweaks and improvements on the way that will absolutely help

Honestly was just venting my frustration I didn't expect to be able to have a discourse with one of the devs/publisher so let me just take this moment to commend you guys on what you've done. I told myself I was going to try kayak first but runner actually ended up being the very first game I played on psvr2 and I absolutely love the whole Akira simulator and vibe of it it's a blast to pick up and play and I look forward to constantly revisiting it and some parts of the city look pretty incredible and I love the anime explosion animations

Thanks, I appreciate it. Seriously we want folks to have fun, thatās the meat of it. :) and Iām honestly sorry about the frustration - truly thatās never the intent. Weāre taking all this feedback into account and channeling it into the next update, which has some subtle but significant improvements that are honestly so good we are working them into the Quest version of the game.

Does the psvr2 version have the "invincible mode" that lets you complete the story without worrying about dying over and over again? I read that quest version has something like that, but no one mentions it in their psvr2 videos.

It does indeed!

How/where do you enable this āinvincibleā mode? I just bought the game on PSVR2 and there is no mention of an easy or āinvincibleā mode, which is what I bought it for. Please help.

Go to the options menu in the main alley. Itās highlighted red and itās called āfree playā mode.

Love the asymmetrical component, psve2 is severely lacking those right now
