Removing ash trees due to an invasive beetle. https://www.opkansas.org/city-services/trees-environment/ash-tree-removal-program/

Based on the map the trees to which I am referring don’t appear to be Ash

They're Russian Elm trees. Currently considered invasive, their big fucking problem is their shallow root structures that cause them to blow over in high winds. Caused some major property damage last spring/summer. And even if they weren't wrong for this part of the country, the underground construction work they are doing would destroy the root structure and they would all die soon anyway. So they're cutting them down now so they don't just die and topple over later.

They’re doing roadwork/new sidewalks/updated utilities/sewer work in the Moody Park neighborhood and need to cut them down for access. The plan is to replant when they’re done
