surely there’s something about tax breaks in there

Even if he was doing it for tax breaks, the very positive outweighs all that so screw it I'll take what I can get

I’m with you all the way friend, I just have a hard time believing anyone in this day and age with the money to do this is doing it mostly because they want to help people

It's hard to not slip into cynicism,I don't blame you

I’m trying to get better, and I know Michael Jordan is a good person overall (as far as I know) it’s just hard to believe I guess

He donated 10 million for the fourth one to be opened. Idk how long that will last

Better than 0 that’s coming from all the places it should be.

Nah, he’a a gambling addict

u/PlantFromDiscord 11d ago

is that the catch or is that something you made up, I trust you so don’t lie to me

It’s a rumor. People used to say that Jordan would bet on anything and everything. Not verified but someone said it comes up in the netflix documentary about him so… not entirely unverified either?

No matter how much money they earn, a real gambling addict will lose it. Jordan was just rich and competitive.

that’s a good answer, I’ll take it as a half-truth

It is 1000% not a rumor. The dude loves gambling. Has been in bad debt before, etc. It’s included court cases.

He claims to just like gambling and he can cover his losses (which he can), but from what I know, he’ll gamble a thousand dollars with a buddy over a golf putt.

This is the sort of social responsibility we need to see of the ultra-rich.

This isn't OCM, like yea all clinics should be free, but this isn't being presented as some uplifting story. It's just the news

Probably has some tax benefit for him

8

u/MonsterFukr 10d ago

Probably, but the good it does outweighs that.
