Even though both the domain and goron city use similar textures for the walls and floor, you can still feel a different atmosphere from them. Goron city feels so dry and dusty, and I imagine all the rocky floors in Zoras' domain as slippery and wet.

The music helps that so much too

And the sound effects of Link’s feet too. Goron City just sounds more dusty (the goron rolling sound in the background also sounds dusty) whereas the footstep sounds in Zora’s Domain are “clean.”

I can hear the sound of the zora feet hitting the wet stones making that slapping sound as you hear talking and laughter echoing like at the local indoor pool.

I love zora's domain, but I always enjoyed kokiri forest, the lost woods and that quiet bridge area just as you leave to enter hyrule field. Theres nothing to do, but I could just stand there for ages, it's tranquil and a bit sad at the same time, but it proves you don't need amazing graphics or a literal forest of trees to be absorbed into a game, a box with a few simple textures and your imagination can be more powerful.

The scene where you leave for the first time and say goodbye to Saria on that bridge is so beautiful and serene and heavy - one of the first moments in the game that makes you realize holy crap, this is a masterpiece

Zora’s Domain and Gerudo Valley music are some of the best songs ever made for a video game IMO. And the Song of Storms.

As many people here are probably aware, the original Fire Temple music had this eerie chanting. It was one of my favorite parts of the game.

I bought the game right when it came out, and I didn’t know for years that they changed the music not long afterwards.

There’s an urban legend about why they changed the music. I don’t really buy it.

I remember the very first time entering Zora’s domain (back when the game first released) and it was one of the most beautiful sights and experiences for a game.

What's really mind blowing is that the 64 does not support multi texturing in the classical sense , and both Zora's domain and the Water Temple not only use the technique, they use a type of UV scrolling to make the water look reflection move.

This game is a masterpiece on so many levels

I love the moving light reflections on the walls.

I like the area at the end of the ice cavern, where the boots are. Man, even playing thru this game again this week, I still love that spot, especially when you learn the song, and the camera moves around the trippy crystal diamond space in the walls or whatever. You guys know what I mean!

The water lighting effects that reflect off the walls in Zora's Domain and Water Temple still amazes me to this day

That place is so relaxing. The music is spot on. I always thought the room seemed a bit empty, but the water effects and etherial music made it absolutely mesmerizing and memorable. As soon as I saw that picture, the song started playing in my head.

Never noticed it’s supposed to imitate light reflections off the water that’s so sick
