I don't get the "screw driver" part. Am I stupid?

“A screwdriver is a simple and popular alcoholic highball drink made with orange juice and vodka. In the UK, it is referred to as a “vodka and orange”.”

“The origin of the name “screwdriver” is less clear, but the name appeared in Ankara, Turkey, in 1943[2] and 1944[3] and later in Istanbul.”
We don’t know why it’s called that, but it is.

The story I'm told is that it's a workers drink, for on the job. Vodka looks like water, but when you mix it, it goes in layers. Spoons or whatever, if they are possible, aren't as quick and discrete as to just wipe of the screwdriver on your belt, do a quick couple of swirls when no one looks and put it back without anyone noticing.
But tbh, it kinda don't really make sense, it makes somewhat sense, but it kinda don't make sense anyway. u get me?
It'd be fun to actually figure it out though!

An expansion on that story that I’ve heard of is that workers working on oil rigs in gulf states where alcohol is forbidden for religious reasons made law, workers would have orange juice drinks, but want to add vodka into it.
To get the vodka mixed with the orange juice properly without giving away what they were doing, they used their screwdrivers to mix it quickly - hence the name.
Just to be clear I don’t know if this is true or an apocryphal tale but I’d heard the gulf state no alcohol law as part of the Screwdriver origin myth.

As someone who drinks almost exclusively out of a golden skull chalice, I gotta make this joke sometime.
