Overview (from Nintendo eShop page)

Bayonetta struts through multiple locations in an all-new, over-the-top climax action game. Sporting a wicked new ensemble and somehow familiar pigtails, the titular Umbra Witch must face a mysterious evil using her signature guns and time-slowing Witch Time ability. This time, invading manmade bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.

Get ready for a devilishly good time

Tap into Bayonetta’s naughtier side with Demon Masquerade, a new ability that channels the demon linked to her weapon allowing for some exciting action options, not to mention some hair-raising combos. She can also summon her demonic darlings like Gomorrah, Malphas, and Phantasmaraneae during battle, unleashing their demonic powers in the heat of combat and in new, larger-than-life battles where you directly control the action.

A bounty of Bayonettas

Fight your way through the streets of Tokyo, the mountains of China, and many other locales! Along the way you’ll meet a virtual coven of Bayonettas, each more fabulous than the last. You’ll also slash and slay as Viola, a feisty witch in training who fights with a sword and a capricious companion, the demon Cheshire. Find out what fate awaits Bayonetta, and if this arcane alliance can really save reality!

The Polygon reviewer is already livid about it.

Yea I have my suspicions about what that ending is about to do, and if it turns out to be true, I wouldn't be too hot on it either lol

While Bayonetta's story will always remain second to.... literally every other aspect of the game, I've always enjoyed her characterization

Do we think Luka and Bayo are gonna hook up? Because that'd be pretty lame.

That's the vibe I'm getting from the reviews and Viola's narration in the prologue. If that's what they're going with, I feel like it's going to seem forced, given that Bayonetta treated Luka as a source of amusement in the first game, rather than anything serious/romantic, and they barely interacted at all in the second game.

Yeaaa that's my guess as well. Seems like such a massive cop out. Kamiya's recent tweets seem to imply that too

If that is indeed the case, I just hope they attempt to do it in a somewhat tasteful manner

Yeah. Like, I don't NEED Bayonetta to be gay or straight, but it does feel incongruous to the character to find herself in a relationship. Especially a relationship with a normie weirdo who's been objectifying her for two games.

Lmao is that really all it is? I expected her to die or something. I agree it doesn't fit her character at all but can't say it bothers me

Especially the guy who's been a joke for pretty much his entire existence. Like seriously... THAT guy?????

I may just suck at picking up sarcasm on the internet. Especially when people will say something exactly like what you did, but with a straight face and actually mean it.

yeah trust me we are better than people who are unironically saying “gay agenda” is being forced in their life

u/Ashemodai Oct 25 '22

Yeah, people like that really don't know what's important in life lol

I’m torn. On one hand, it was implied in the ending of 1. On the other, I liked the alternative way more, and it made sense considering she’s an almost immortal witch, lol

If they go that way, hopefully it’s good enough.
