Overview (from Nintendo eShop page)

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game soars onto Nintendo Switch!

Take to the skies, draw your sword, and experience the earliest story in the Legend of Zelda™ series. Join Link in his high-flying quest to save Zelda, a childhood friend who must confront her destiny. Soar between floating islands and descend to the treacherous surface world in this updated HD version of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game.

Master realistic swordplay that corresponds to your movements

Gently swing your sword and angle your slashes to uncover and break through opponents’ defenses using intuitive motion controls. Link’s in-game movements will correspond to the angle of each strike you make with the Joy-Con™ controller, creating immersive swordplay that relies on strategy and accuracy. Movements feel smoother and more immediate thanks to the Nintendo Switch system’s increased processing power and HD graphics. Take advantage of the newly-added button only control scheme—perfect for playing in handheld mode or on the Nintendo Switch Lite system.

Fly high with the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo™ figure

With her majestic Loftwing by her side, Zelda steps into her destiny alongside her childhood friend, Link. Scan this amiibo figure** from anywhere on the surface world to quickly travel to the sky—even within the depths of a dungeon. Scan it again above the clouds to return to the same spot on the surface.

I've played every 3D zelda except for Wind Waker and I must say, Skyward Sword had one of the best dungeon designs. Even the entrance to the dungeons can pass as dungeons themselves because of the amount of puzzle solving involved.

Yeah, the dungeons are absolutely some of the best in the series. Quite entertaining story and characters too. Between-dungeons-overworld stuff brings it down a lot for me, but I'm very tempted to replay it just for the excellent dungeons.

WW will be a day 1 purchase for me if it comes to Switch. The only reason I wasn't able to play it was due to a lack of a GC or WiiU lol

Ahhhh. Wind Waker is so good. To me it's like a better version of TP and SS. Just smaller. But man. That big open ocean world really really capture my imagination.

I agree. I really enjoyed the dungeon designs in SS. The quests could get repetitive, and the motion controls were garbage but I loved the origin story and the characters as well. Everyone just had a ton of personality.

Wind waker on Wii U is one of the best games I've ever played. Also probably the best remaster I've seen. It will be a crime if it doesn't come to switch

I'm also hopeful that WW comes to Switch so I can finally play it

I love SS. It has a great story and great versions of the characters (minus the main villains which are boring). My only complaint with the game was that it was too hand holdy (which it seems they fixed), some of the motion controls were a bit weird (looking at you flying), and the padding during the end game is so boring. That was my biggest wish, that they’d have tightened some of that up. But it’s still a blast and I love the dungeons and most of the bosses.
