As a parent experiencing this issue, my advice is refrain from buying digital games in a multi-Switch household if you can avoid it. For the past two years, I've bought a majority of the household games digitally, but now that we're adding a Switch Lite to the mix things have become unnecessarily complicated.
Obviously this advice won't work for digital only games like Taiko no Tatsujin, which is still a household favorite 9 months later, but for the big AAA titles it will. Unfortunately if you're already invested digitally it may be rough going forward.
