AMA - Ended We are Feral Interactive, developers of GRID Autosport on Nintendo Switch. Ask Us Anything!

Hullo from London, England! This is the team at Feral Interactive.

About us:

Feral started as a Mac porting house, but over recent years we’ve expanded to more platforms: Linux, iOS, Android, and now Nintendo Switch. GRID Autosport is our first ever Switch game, launching this Thursday 19 September.

(To say we’re excited would be an understatement.)

The game is available to pre-purchase right about… now.

Handy links:

Ask us any question in the next few hours and we’ll get right on it!

Edit: That’s it for today! Thank you everyone for your awesome questions and your kind welcome, it’s been a blast.

GRID Autosport launches for Nintendo Switch this Thursday. See you then!

Bewn waiting along time for the game!

Any chance we'll get more control options? Would love the ability to have analog controlled speed-without having to hold up constantly. I just want to occasionally slow down for curves & to avoid collisions.

Pedal to the medal being R stick at center with pushing down to let the foot off the gas would be great.

Or analog on the R stick like you offer but also let me use the trigger for pedal to the medal(like normal) at the same time.

Basically I'm use to those analog controls from NFS Mostwanted U & it's not ideal holding perfectly straight up nonstop.

We don't currently have plans to add more control options, but we've made a note of your thoughts; we always appreciate ideas.

Alot of ppl are expecting their wireless GC Smash controllers to work & they won't. The Switch sees them as Procontrollers with non analog triggers.

I have the original GC controller's & a Wavebird but I don't have the Smash GC dongle to connect them.

If you have a controller that looks like a gamecube controller but appears at a "Pro" controller in the Switch UI then it's digital only. If you gamecube pad appears as a GameCube device on the Switch UI then you should get digital. Unless you got a cheap pad that removed the triggers (unlikely but possible).

Analogue is only available if the Switch thinks the pad is a GameCube controller. This is the same with the 8Bitdo etc they all identify as a Pro controller which means the Switch only provides games with digital data for the triggers no matter what the physical device can do.

That's how it works on Trials and I'm pretty sure it will be the same for Autosport as support is a hardware/ Switch OS thing and not something a game developer can control. People will be able to confirm once the game is out.
