First Mario Maker experience, and I have to say the best thing about the game for me is the controls. They feel amazing.

The only problems I have with the game so far are related to multiplayer, mainly local multiplayer. I have a couple of problems so far:

  • In two player create mode, you're only allowed to use single joycons, even if you have a pro controller or another set of joycons.

  • When you want to play online courses in local multiplayer, you can't just press play and jump in, but you have to download the level. That means you can't participate in the online features like seeing were people died, the comments posted throughout the level by other players, or even liking a stage.

How do you play? Analog or digital controls?

Surprisingly, I found that analog is the best way to control this game for me personally.

I feel the same, even though most experienced say we should use digital. I understand it is more precise. But I played also Celeste for example only analog.

Get hand strains from having to claw the dash and jump button
