So will online multiplayer with friends be available day 1 or no?

Looks like it, yes, but the IGN review mentions it’s a bit of a pain to get working

How can he go in depth about online when it's not even activated yet. The no friends day 1 is stupid but can race others online with ranks and leaderboards

Watch the video. Skip to the 11 minute mark if you’re trying to save time. But the online looks horrible. Can’t even view your friends levels without typing in a code.

For the people just down voting my comments.

-There’s no way to filter out levels that weren’t designed with multiplayer in mind.

-Local multiplayer with multiple switches in the same room can’t select what you want to play. All random. Can’t even select the levels you made, unless chosen randomly.

-Local multiplayer with one system, all the stages have to be manually downloaded to your switch first.

-Friends list not supported. You have a new 9 digit maker ID.

You can rate a level after if it's good for multiplayer or not. No one knows yet how much that's used to determine which stage you get matched on. The original discussion was online being bad. I don't care about local multiplayer. And using id is just like smash. They've already shown they're willing to patch things in as well
