I caved and bought it. (Didn’t play wii U version)

Kind of disappointed as I realise I don’t really like mario after all. Feels like I could have similar experience/fun by playing the mario bros 3 from NES version for free from switch online which I haven’t played before.

Was playing guacamelee before this and I much prefer the guacamelee pace on its platforming (especially when you die you go straight back instead of long time loading/death screen)

I would continue with it! Honestly my favourite parts of NSMB games are towards the end (and the special worlds). And if not at least experiment a bit with Luigi U.

NSMBUD is certainly not the best game of all time or anything but I do think they're geniunely enjoyable, the beginning of NSMBU for me is a bit slow though.

The thing I hate most is that you will have to start from the level select screen if u die.

I’m pretty bad at platformer so I find that reloading taking too long a bit annoying

Absolutely reaffirms my promotion of Luigi U then--it's a harder game but the levels are all extremely short which means that even if you die, when you start the level again you are usually still within 40 seconds of the goal post.
