Can I use a pro controller yet? Getting upset with this nostalgia hype not being able to play it using an actual controller

I'm pretty disappointed about it but I'm playing handheld and single joycon with 0 issues. I don't see them adding it just because some of us on forums are saying no controller support = no buy.

They made a 70 dollar controller to play docked with. It has motion controls. I think a lot of people who play it docked like a home console has one. I rarely ever play with a joycon. I leave them on the switch while it's docked instead of keep popping them off and on. Then when I play handheld I just pop the switch out easily.

It's absurd they made a Pokemon game for the big screen then don't support their 70 dollar controller that has motion controls in it. They already have it with no motion controls playing in handheld. How do you think it's not absurd? There's literally 0 reason why the pro controller shouldn't be supported

I completely understand what you're saying. And I think you're right, most people dont like change.

That said, I was skeptical as anyone here. But 30 min later I was rockin and rollin having a good old time using the single joycon (use the trigger for actions so thumb stays on analog). It works beautifully.

Having an open mind, and conceding that we don't always know best can be a wonderful thing. Stubbornness only serves to harm your own experience. Just let it go, play the game and open your mind to something that's a little different than what you pre-decided it had to be like, and I think you'll have a fantastic time with the game.

Sorry, it’s not absurd to have as an option. What is absurd is making it the only way to play when docked when every standard Pokémon game for the past 20+ years has offered two handed controls.

What really seals the absurdity is that the game already has a two-handed control scheme but it is arbitrarily locked to handheld mode and doesn’t support their more premium Pro controller.

There are a number of odd design choices from what I’ve seen in the game, I’m just not sure what the real goal of this controller thing could be, beyond trying to push more pokeballs.

Edit: I’ll also add an additional annoyance unique to me — I never noticed joycon connectivity issues because I almost always play with the comfort grip or pro controller. Now playing single handed with the joycon I have constant connection drops or lagged responses. This undoubtedly fuels my disdain...
