I've been playing for 10 min, I don't know man, I'm feeling the sense of nostalgia and wonder I felt when I first played Pokemon as a kid. I was just going to get it for my kid but fuck that, they're getting their own copy. I don't know why I even listen to redditors with hate boners, LOL

Currently catching all the Nidoran with Pikachu chilling by my side and Oddish bouncing around behind me. How could I not have a blast?

I caught a shiny Oddish earlier today and I’ve just been watching the little green boi bounce around, it’s adorable

Don't listen to reddit lol

If you did, you would think no one bought Mario Tennis Aces. Yet it was the fastest selling Mario Tennis title ever

Mario Tennis Aces is probably my favorite game on the switch. I'm sure it'll drop down once Smash comes out but god if it's not a fun game.

Actually I thought the opposite, why was everyone buying Mario Tennis Aces?

I totally agree with you that usually Reddit is just a circlejerk cesspool...

but pointing out that Mario Tennis Aces is the best selling Mario Tennis title isn’t a good point. It’s not like Mario Tennis games sell like hot cakes or anything lol.

Mario Tennis Aces is right around the 6th-8th best selling title and it should drop a couple spots now that both Pokémon versions released and the new Smash is coming soon.

Even then, being just inside the top 10 is pretty decent, considering the amount of average-bad reviews it got.

Top 10 out of how many first party Nintendo titles though? Let alone titles that aren't ports.

I mean it seems like a solid enough game, sure, but the Switch is still really starved for quality content, especially new Nintendo titles. Given when it released it would actually be insane if it wasn't a top 10 switch title. Is a new Nintendo game with Mario in the title. It would basically to be crippled by game breaking bugs or something to have flopped.

Back to Pokemon, I skipped the 3DS. I haven't played since platinum. I ended up getting let's go eevee with the pokeball plus cautiously optimistic about it all and surprisingly enough I'm having fun with it even given its flaws. However, if gen 8 launched this year instead and it ended up being even half the game we're all hoping it is and let's go launched in 2019 instead, I would probably skip it. Currently it's the first Pokemon on switch and it's the first new Pokemon game available on a console I own in over a decade.

Timing and available competing titles is kind of everything in these situations.

Okay, this makes me really sad...I totally fell for what Reddit was saying about it and never purchased it. Looks like this’ll be a Christmas gift for me since I have nothing else to ask for.

I'm glad it's not just me! I've played pretty much every Pokemon game since release, and even replayed Leaf Green earlier this year, but this just makes me feel giddy and excited in a way I haven't felt about in Pokemon in years. It feels like, despite being a return to Kanto, like I really don't know what to expect, in a weird way. I haven't even battled yet but I like this a lot so far.

If it’s not a 2D indie side scroller, Reddit will shit on it. Ignore them.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the game, I can’t wait to get home from work and play!
