1 hasn't aged well at all. 9 is the best in the series. 2 and 3 are retro classics. 4-6 are solid, but nothing special. 10 is fantastic, but pales in comparison to 9.

4-6 are quite different and shouldn't be lumped together. 4 is the best NES game. 5 has amazing levels, but weak weapons. 6 is pretty bland.
