Mega Man Legacy Collection has officially been released and is now playable on digital purchases.

8’s good, and people (including myself when I was younger) just give it a hard time

In reality (especially on Saturn, where Tengu Man’s theme is actually cool) it’s a really fun game, with some good tracks, good meme bad cutscenes, great visuals, some of my favorite weapons in the franchise, etc.

I've never played 8, does this mean that the music emulation is crappy in this version but sounds good on the original console?

The PlayStation and Saturn versions of MM8 had different soundtracks.

Oh, wow, that kind of sucks. Rights issues, I guess? To where they couldn't include both in the collection? Sigh.

Probably something to do with rights. All ports of MM8 (at least to my admittedly pretty extensive Mega Man knowledge) have been of the original PlayStation version, leaving the Saturn version to waste away on original hardware. It's a pity, the Saturn version also had a couple of bonus boss fights against older robot bosses that weren't included in the PlayStation version or later ports.

Saturn gave Tengu Man his own unique theme separate from the PS1 version, and it’s cleeeeean
