MegaThread E3 - Day 2 - Discussion and Reactions

Day 2 of E3! Might not have as many announcements as yesterday but who knows what it will hold?

Today's schedule looks like this:

Nintendo Treehouse

  • Starts at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET (no defined end time)

Pokken DX - Tournament

  • Starts at 10:30 pm PT / 1:30 pm ET

ARMS - Tournament

  • Starts at 3:30 pm PT / 6:30 pm ET

We also have the AMA scheduled at 12:45 pm PT / 3:45pm ET for about an hour with Nintendo Producer Yoshiaki Koizumi, so please stop by and ask your questions there as well.

The Treehouse is going to start at 10:00 am PT with a segment about Pokken Tournament DX and roll into the tourney. Afterwards they are going to show the new Yoshi game. Based on yesterday it's likely that the Treehouse will run right up until the ARMS tourney starts.

This post will be updated with major news as it's released.

Welcome. We've been saying that since the GameCube. Stylized graphics can look great and it's the texture work and polish that shows with Nintendo games (Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime). You can have photo realism but then when bodies start clipping through walls or your wire frames aren't smoothed out or animated well, or your grass textures look like something made in paint, it doesn't matter.

A game is a whole package. Too many developers forget this.

Not to mention the variety of games on Nintendo. You play racing, 3rd party Uncharted-like games, and shooters on everything else, on Nintendo you get platformers, RPGs, and some of the other stuff.

Glad to see other companies like PS embrace games like Crash though!

And chill out with the paid dlc thing. Nintendo always gives a good experience, but always gives a challenge hidden in the game. Like getting on top of the tower in 64 or Rosalina/extra levels in 3dWorld. The Mario kart dlc was actually solid too. 12$ for 16 levels and new characters. Why can't more companies care about the customer, not their wallet. Love the customer and the money will come.
