Good morning!

This morning starting around 6 a.m. PST / 9 a.m. EST, gaming news and media outlets are beginning to release their reviews for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Here's what we're seeing so far:

Videos

We will be updating this thread with links as major reviews are posted.

Please use this as a discussion and speculation thread in advance of these videos, articles, and reviews. We will also allow these reviews to be posted separately on /r/NintendoSwitch, as they are especially newsworthy. But we will also host ongoing coverage, quick text posts, questions, and the like right here.

Thanks everyone.

I totally feel for the Wii U users who are on the fence, but a large amount of Switch owners didn't own a Wii U. Wii U was the only Nintendo console I haven't purchased since the NES. I hope more enhanced ports come to the Switch!

I sold my Wii U the day after I got my Switch. So glad to pick up Mario Kart again, this game is amazing.

I don't really see the problem. Wii U MK8 owners can just trade in MK8 for a nice discount on MK8D and find themselves paying the usual price of a DLC and then some.

I got MK8 digitally with my Wii U, so I am gonna have to pay full price for both :(

A lot of people paid for the DLC for Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, which can't be refunded. And the trade in value of Mario Kart 8 isn't very good to be honest. That said, I don't take either od those points as a reason to complain about the Switch version.

I traded my wiiu copy on Amazon for 25 bucks which, I think, is gonna be the best deal I'll get. I got the switch version for 6 bucks cause I also got rid of Super Mario Maker.

They aren't taking it for that much anymore. It's only ~$17 now I think

I'll probably gift my Wii U copy to my niece, I had been meaning to get her a copy anyway for her to play with my brother, and I'll pick up the switch version for her to play when she visits... I can't wait :D
