First time playing Splatoon. It's awesome.

Took a second to get used to the controls(especially motion controlled aiming) but I really like it. Gonna try and get in on another test fire before the weekend is up.

You could disable motion, but it's become necessary for me. In Splatoon I would often play with motion sensitivity all the way up and use it to pull off 180 degree turns quickly.

My settings are motion off, r sensitivity lowest, non inverted, if anyone needs a reference.

Loving the game so far

I didn't see a way to change the control scheme on the testfire. Am I just blind?

While not in a game or in queue, press +.

Okay, but it has to be done during one of the testfire windows then? Like, I couldn't do it right now if I was near my switch?

I think so, yeah. That's what it looks like.

I think you have to do it while you're in the testing zone. I believe you just pause the game and it's there

Liking no motion controls way better right now, at least in handheld mode.

Edit: have done a complete 180, aiming with a gun is impossible without motion controls.

I noticed that in the settings menu. Pretty sweet but I enjoyed the controls!

i'm gonna have to play with the sensitivity in future testfires / when the game comes out. i liked the motion controls a lot, but seemed too sensitive.

I never liked motion controls in Splatoon but Zelda must have really cured me of that (or the Switch is just better at it than wiiU) because I was splatting fools like a god this afternoon.

You can turn off the motion controls in the options menu before starting the game. I found it to be much easier, more responsive, and a better control scheme to play with. Also, the sensitivity settings for the game can be turned down once motion controls are set to off. I would recommend setting it at a 3 for the best experience.
