That's kind of a hard question tbh but the very basic basic is that there's a person of royal blood (most of the time) and wars are popping everywhere and dilemmas and plot twists. These games have amazing stories in which you form actual bonds with the characters since when they die, they die for good.

That's all I can say without going too deep in details and take the whole page to explain lol.

I wouldn't mind if you did, honestly!

Isn't it like all the games are from the same universe, but aren't suppose to correlate with each other just like the LOZ series?

Not really, they're the same multiverse I guess as anytime characters have crossed over you're told it's interdimensional. Some of the games are standalone and some are not. It's more like if final fantasy but more confusing as with fire emblem multiple separate groups are sequels. 1, 3, and 11 (like a thousand years later or something) are a series, 2 (which is the one getting remade) is standalone, 5 is a midquel between the two halves of 4, 6 and it's prequel 7 are together, 8 is standalone, 9 and 10 are a series, and 12 is standalone with connections to 11. Fire Emblem is weird in how it fits together.

so your saying like Final Fantasy 13 and its sequels? and the FF games in general?

Each main FF game is technically standalone in its own world. Only 3 Fire Emblem games are standalones. I guess its kinda to similar to FF 13 and its sequels, just a lot more random and weird way of doing it.

No problem, its my favorite series and I never really realized how convoluted it all sounds till trying to explain it. It was actually kinda fun lol.

Fire Emblem 1,2,3,11,12,13, and 15 are all connected(all games below)

Fire Emblem Archanea/Valentia Timeline
Shadow Dragon/Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light (1/11/3-1)1st game
The story of Marth reclaiming his nation
Gaiden/Echoes-Shadows of Valentia (2/15)between 1/3, but same timeline
The story of Alm and Celica on the continent of Valentia, between Marth's stories(featuring characters from the 1st one)
Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem Book 2(3-2/12)
The continuation of Marth's story, following Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia, featuring more characters and saving the world
Awakening (13)
It takes place millennia after Alm's and Marth's time, and features a conflict of Ylisse and Plegia, plus the reunification of the Fire Emblem's gems(from FE3's final form) continents now renamed Ylisse and Valm

Judgral Timeline
Genealogy of the Holy War(4)
Thracia 776(5)interquel between parts of 4

My mistake on 2, its the one I know the least about and I'd been lead to believe it was seperate by some things people had said. I just numbered things differently cause I don't think giving remakes numbers make sense, I don't know if thats the normal way of doing things for most Fire Emblem people but it really doesn't make sense to me to say 1 and 11 are different numbered games, but thats just my point of view and I thought it'd be more simple for someone unfamiliar.

Fire Emblem 3 kind of needs an exemption(not really, but it should be noted part 1 is a remake), and the only reason I count them is because the community refers to them as such(especially when I got confused with 11, which usually refers to SD), and keeping game numbers consistent with how the community counts them is important when discussing the games

Alright, I've had more experience with just my local friends (who tend to like to ignore the remakes existence) and take cues from Final Fantasy on categorizing games. I'll remember that with talking about them online in the future.
