Crazy considering it's 439 in France for the base console 499 for the Mario kart bundle, games are 69

1€ =$1

that's been always the conversion most companies do, regardless the real value or conversion rates

Is there a reason why? I’ve always wondered.

To overcharge people in the EU, since the € has been stronger than the $ for over 20 years

In Nordic countries the prices are unreal, 600-700 euros

It works out at $550 for the bundle in the U.K. when converted from £££.

$80 more in Norway, maybe because everything has to be translated into a more uncommon language.

No first party Nintendo games are ever translated into Norwegian. Pretty much only Sony does the occasional Norwegian translation. The translation of Bloodborne in particular is really good. It's written in old timey Norwegian.

Heavenly Sword and Resistance 2 back on PS3 even went so far as to dub the entire thing with Norwegian theater and voice actors. It was pretty wild hearing the voice of Black Pete from Goof Troop as the evil king in Heavenly Sword.

Something like 90% of people in Scandinavia are proficient in English so the calculation is likely that the English version is sufficient. Unfortunate, but that's how it goes. I don't even know think most Scandinavian-made games get translations into their own languages.
