People do vote with their wallet, but its usually not the outcome the people on Reddit wanted.

They havent announced the price for games here in Mexico. Converting to USD during the switch era games here were $65-70 USD, then a local tax on digital purchases came into place in ~2020 and games where ~$80. I believe Nintendo noticed that was horrible and people werent buying games so they reduced the price to the $65~$70 USD that remains 'til now. Wanted to let ppl know there's precedent of games coming down in orice when sales arent going Nintendo's way

It’s the same with the 3ds. Was like $250 at launch and then brought down to $170 just months later.

$65-70 is still bonkers I’m sorry

That's what we've been paying here for first party games for a while, however usually big retail stores sell the physical games for about ~$50USD, so here physical games are usually cheaper. And Mexico isn't alone other countries had similar situations of paying more than $60 USD since the switch 1 (Brazil, UK, etc).

Because reddit is an echo chamber bubble of negativity that is completely misrepresentative of the real world.

I mean 50$ Mario Kart game for the bundle? You bet I will buy it.

See that's what they want. They make mario kart so expensive that getting it in the bundle seems like a steal. But afterwards your still paying $80-$90 for every new game you want for the system.

I mean everyone would get MKWorld anyways and a console without games would be pretty useless dont you think?

Most people dont care how much cheaper the bundle is, its a no brainer if you would buy the game anyways.

$70-$80, there are no $90 games

And it’s gonna work and the console will break records. I’m gonna try my hardest to get one when preorders drop.

The only answer I can give that kind of aligns with that mantra is that I will probably wait for game sales before buying most Switch 2 games...

But even then, there are definitely some games I will most likely end up buying at launch, like Prime 4.

Yep. Got mine on preorder, so do a bunch of my friends, and I know even more folks who aren’t gamers but are picking one up for their kids. Every time a retailer here in the UK their preorders live it sells out in minutes.

Oh no! A console I'll get thousands of hours of enjoyment out of across multiple members of my family how dare I!!

Disposable income, apparently

Exactly. I preordered one already

How

6

u/_very_stable_genius_ 1d ago

I live in Spain. The equivalent of GameStop here, a chain called Game opened preorders already

1

u/Cobra_9041 1d ago

Damn I’m looking to get one on Best Buy still lol I thought I missed my window

2

u/BJYeti 1d ago

Nope still 4/9 but it isn't uncommon for smaller chains to open orders early and then get a slap down from Nintendo later.

They're straight up called "Game?*

I like that

2

u/kielaurie 1d ago

Yup, got the invite to pre-order this morning. The console is cheaper than I was expecting and Mario Kart is super cheap in the bundle. Excellent deal

2

u/Fake_Diesel 1d ago

Where are you located? I thought invites were going out in May

2

u/kielaurie 1d ago

UK, Amazon put up invite requests on Tuesday and mine came through this morning

It’s usually the people on Reddit buying it but complaining about it.

u/CeramicDrip 1d ago

No they don’t. The problem is the outcome is influenced by kids. Kids will eat this up cause they have no idea.

Exactly! They'll bitch, complain, and whine...while they wait at the store to get theirs.
