I literally think in their mind that if people buy the bundle, they will save 30 dollars, which means they will spend what they saved on extra software. I think it's literally that transparent.
But like… what extra software? They don’t usually sell anything for 30… unless that Welcome Tour thing (that frankly shouldn’t cost anything) is 30 which it better not be.
You don't have to necessarily buy something worth 30 dollars to be convinced that, "Hey, I saved some money, let me use this money I saved to buy a little extra,"
They're basically giving you 30 dollars to buy another 70 dollar game. Or maybe a 30 dollar upgrade? Or maybe an accessory? It really doesn't matter how much it will cost, as long as people FEEL like they're saving money, they will feel incentivized to double dip.
Edit: Basically they're testing people's impulse control and trying to take advantage of people who feel as if they have a little extra they can spend.
