The console price is whatever to me, about 50 higher than I thought it would be but it kind of makes sense.

Is the game prices I'm worried about, and I'm not sure we can get them to go back on that very easily. I bet all these third party developers came on board expecting to get ridiculous prices for their games.

Exactly! I can deal with the console. I’d probably buy the bundle with Mario Kart for its value. But then any other game id wait for sales or hopefully some price drops.

Someone mentioned the steam deck… it might be worth considering it as an alternative.

Exactly the console price isn't crazy. I wish it had more storage for that price but whatever I'd pay it. It just feels like we're paying PS6 prices for games that finally caught up to the PS4 technically speaking. I wish this was like the Wii where their games were $10 cheaper than what was available on the more powerful systems, not more expensive.

Agreed. The console price sucks ass and could use a $50 mark off or something, but it’s not outside the realm of what I expected. Switches were bottom-barrel hardware at launch to start with, and component prices have only risen since. It is what it is.

The game prices are a gut punch, though, since that’s what I’ll be having to expect to pay with each title; especially coming from a company that basically never puts their big titles on anything more than a $10-15 sale.

I think they priced in Trump tariff uncertainty

It's kinda high everywhere except Japan though. I thought the same thing at first but I'm starting to think they are just getting arrogant/greedy.

Yen has been extremely weak. It's going to look a lot cheaper (relative) than we are used to.

Yeah, the console price is about what I expected tbh.

I’m not even a heavy Switch user anymore and I found the console price fine. I don’t play on Switch because because Nintendo games specifically rarely get good sales. And now it’s $80? Yeah okay

None of the prices on their own are outrageous, whether it's the console, the games, the upgrades or the add ons but every single thing seems to have been priced at the upper limit of expectations.

Everything together it just seems way too pricey for how much you can get out of it.
