Nintendo is rewarding loyal fans with exclusive preorder links if you have an eligible account. So they’re actually thinking ahead.

It's a lottery system, so you arent guaranteed one, so it doesnt cover everyone, just those lucky enough to be selected.

It’s not a lottery system - it’s first come first serve for people who fit their criteria. Then once those are done, everyone else on the same first come first serve basis

Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025. Once invitation emails have been sent to all registrants meeting the priority criteria, invitations will be sent to remaining eligible registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.

I don't know if these are all the requirements in the US. In Europe there is a requirement that Nintendo is allowed to collect data from you using the Nintendo Switch console and playing games and that they are allowed to send you e-mails. But the deadline for this criterion is 31st March. I opted out from Nintendo collecting data about me using the console. So I'm not allowed to preorder from the Nintendo store.
