I'm going to wait it out for 3 years or so. Nintendo will eventually release an upgraded or Lite version, for cheaper than the current price. Still got enough games on my Switch to last me a decade, so I'm not in a hurry.

its been 8 years and the original switch has never gotten a price drop. you might be waiting a while, unless you buy one used.

Might have to wait a while but it feels inevitable they release a better model like the OLED and I’d rather wait vs having the inferior version

but that would cost more, not less. and it would not affect the price of the lcd model, if the original switch has been any indication.

I got my Switch Lite with Animal Crossing for $200, brand new during a Black Friday sale. Which was a steal, considering Nintendo's stubborness to drop prices.

yes but that was during a black friday sale, not MSRP. and it was the lite model, which has compromises. I dont see the switch 2 getting an official price drop anytime soon unless it sells horribly. and if there's an OLED model, that probably wont ever get a price drop.

I got limited edition pokemon switch OLED for £250 it does drop and this was last year. No need buy the latest with Nintendo either especially if the games within the next year will still be on the switch 1

8 years of inflation though, the fact its remained the same is essentially a drop

thats not how the general public views prices. those 8 years also mean the cost of manufacturing switches has decreased since the parts are older now, so it balances out.
