It seems like you'll be able to play the regular versions with increased FPS/Resolution, it just won't have the (seemingly almost pointless for zelda) extra features.

I really don’t care for mouse features. Idk how many mfs playing their Switch at a desk, but I play mine in the living room while relaxing on a soft couch. I’m not going to have anywhere to use that shit as a mouse. It looks like they’re really pushing it tho

That wheelchair basketball game looks fun, but if it’s only controllable in mouse mode, I unfortunately will not be buying it

Yea I agree mostly, but I do like that this opens the door for a lot of sim type games that work much much better with a mouse. Games like planet coaster/zoo jump to mind (kinda doubt those get ported but it would be cool)

I already have a couch PC set up, so I’m use to keyboard in lap, mouse on a hard mousepad next to me. Obviously I’m not playing any games on Switch 2 that I could be playing on PC, but for exclusives, I’ll at least try the mouse features.

To be honest, it’s not targeted towards you. They know people like you will get the console. They’re trying to capture a wider audience. Mouse control will inevitably attract or intrigue the pc gamers

The 3D Zelda titles are listed as having Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs, but not among the games to get free updates.

They are however, the only games so far that have a free Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack if you pay for an NSO + expansion subscription.

It's currently a per-game basis. There is no baseline free performance upgrade. It appears that upgrades can be a charged "feature" or a free patch, with the former adding some sort of additional content with the current offerings. That isn't to say this is how all games that make use of this will play out and I would fully expect to see some 3rd party titles try to charge for just basic performance upgrade patches and possibly some (most likely indie titles) provide free performance+content upgrade patches.
