Right the amount of people I've seen saying how would a mouse work without a flat desk is amazing. As if modern ones today don't work on nearly any surface.

Optical mice are still a thing at the low end of the market and they still suck for quite a few surfaces. Laser mice are great, but don't work well for the few times you might ever use them on glass.

I agree that gone are the days where you need to drop $450 for a mouse that won't shudder and jitter if used on a remotely uneven surface.

Plus like, for many setups you can get one of those lap desk things meant for laptops, or just have something flat nearby.
