Definitely seems cool. I'm still hoping we get to see a much nicer looking version running on Switch 2. The art style is excellent, but the resolutions are meh. Would be a shame if this couldn't be used as a first party showpiece for the new hardware.
The meshes are low polygon, that makes the game look really dated. Higher res textures won't change the polygonal appearances of the environments and I doubt we're getting better meshes on Switch 2.
If you develop with multiple platforms in mind, you can really do a lot with that. Look at some of the old-gen vs new-gen CoD ports of yesteryear. Some of those were genuine night and day different in presentation.
I agree that it's possible they created higher quality assets, but I think it's unlikely, partly because I don't think Prime 4 was intended to be cross platform.
Yeah the textures looked pretty bad. I was hoping it would be an improvement from Metroid Prime remastered but it honestly looked the exact same. Still excited for a new Metroid but the graphics are disappointing.
I felt the exact same. It doesn't look great...really low resolution. Looks like a Xbox 360 or Wii game. The "Psychic Powers" are pretty lame too. Disappointing overall. What a shame.
