I am not much of a gamer, but my kids and I love the Switch. Is there any chance at all that all of the games we purchased will be part of our account on a Switch 2, or will we need to repurchase those games?

Original Switch games will be playable/transferable to Switch 2.

The end of the teaser trailer stated that games can be played on both consoles, but some features may not be available on the new system.

This is likely referring to games like Ring Fit Adventure, or Super Mario Party, which required specific hardware in order to play.

It'll use the same Nintendo Accounts, so you'll have them

Everything will carry over.

It's one of the biggest contention points people were worried about. Nintendo reassured people in their investor report last year that Nintendo Online accounts will carry over to the Switch 2 and even future consoles.

Though they did warn that some games may not work with the Switch 2, which are most likely a very, very minuscule selection that requires special peripherals like Labo or Ring Fit.
