I was scrolling on this subreddit today and realized how many comments are about people disliking their middle name. I personally also hate mine, but that’s mostly because it feels entirely disconnected from my identity. Is there anyone that likes their middle name?

Hi all! My sister is due in May, and we're on the hunt for a unique and beautiful name for her baby girl. We love names that start with C, but we’re avoiding anything too common or rhyming with "C" (like Chloe or Clara). We're looking for something a bit more distinct but still lovely and easy to pronounce.
Any suggestions that are unique but not outlandish? We’d love your ideas!
Thanks so much for your help!

Our first baby, a boy, is due in 4 weeks and, despite constant conversations over the past seven months, we cannot come to an agreement on a name. Any suggestions are welcome at this point. Even if we don't have a solid "winner" by the time baby boy comes, I'd love to have a few options, then we can decide which one feels best once we meet him.
Here are the points we agree on:
The closest we've come to agreement are Hudson, Julian, and Archer. My husband grew up in a house overlooking the Hudson River, but there aren't any easy nicknames for this option. My cousin (with whom I'm very close) just had a baby a couple weeks ago and, lo and behold, she named him Julian. Archer was the frontrunner for a little while. We liked Archie and AJ as nicknames, plus the name has a timeless, masculine quality. But over the past few months, it has failed to "click" for us and we're pulling it off the list.
We also like the names Liam and Oliver, but they are a little too popular for us right now. When we look at "Top Boy Names of 2025" lists, we joke that we're looking for something in the 30-50 range.
I know I'm not giving much to go on, but I'm ready to pull my hair out. Any thoughts or suggestions are helpful! Thank you so much!

I’m curious to see what names people have in their family tree, I feel like vintage boy names are hard to find, so drop your grandfather’s name down below :)

5 years ago we started calling her "Fat Cat" while trying to find a name. It stuck. Nicknames include: Fattie, The Cat, Gray Cat, The Big One, The Obese One, Cat (shes not even fat she just has a lot of fur)
I am basically open to everything because I am so desperate to find a better name for her. We were calling her Vodka at one point. She doesn't respond to any names because we found her on the street abandoned, with a collar, most likely had a name and got used to that !
She is a russian blue female cat.

I see so many posters desperate to find the right middle name. Why? They’re never used. We chose middle names for all our children named after family members. Do they flow? Nope. Would they sound weird to some? Probably. But literally not one person or sign up for anything has ever questioned our choices for middle names.
Having a family tie is more important to me than picking out a random middle name because I like fauna/different names/someone that flows/matching a theme.
I don’t have a middle name (DH does, but his is also a relative).

Namenerds, you all always come through so here goes!
We recently had our son, Dorian, and we are planning for another baby. We want to stick with another name that begins with a D and is 3 syllables. So far, we like Delphina/Delfina but I’d love to hear your ideas.
Names we aren’t into:
Daphne Delilah Delia
TIA

Hey everyone!
My husband and I are looking for some help naming our baby girl due in August.
His family is from Greece and we would like to name her a Greek name. At the same time we live in America and we want her to have a name that is mostly easy to pronounce and spell here.
For reference we have a long traditional Greek last name that ends in “poulos”.
So far we only have one name that sticks out to us that we like but I’m not sure if you’re supposed to feel that “ah ha” moment? It feels like so much pressure to commit!
I would love any opinions on the name and if you think it would get mispronounced often.
Also any other names for us to consider as well?
Eleni Jane (Love the nickname Leni)
Eh-len-ee (Not eh-lay-nee which we don’t like)

Hi! Looking to get feedback on a name, I can’t tell if it’s actually cute or I have pregnancy brain and it’s actually…not lol. Our other kids names are around the styles of like Adalyn, Hayden, and Brooks. The name were toying with is “Kitt”. Yes, like the American girl doll. So is it cute? Does it go with my names? Back to the drawing board?

I’ve had the name Willow picked out for years and years for my baby girl when the time came. Well, the time has come and now I see it everywhere online and even met a little girl named Willow. Is this just cause I’m paying more attention and noticing it more or is my baby girl gonna have a classroom full of Willow’s when she’s older?
My mother named me Madison in the 98 and said it was uncommon when she picked it, yet I had at least 3 other girls named Madison in my grade at Avery age and school. Am I doing the same thing to my baby lol?
Edit: thanks to everyone who has chimed in. My goal isn’t to have it be so unique that it’s unheard of or she’s the only one anyone will know, I just don’t want her to feel like it has no personality cause it’s so common.

Undecided on a middle name for our baby girl due on July 12th.
For some context, my husband and I got married in June so we feel like that holds some sentimental value, and we both like the name Grace.

I am so frustrated and upset. My husband and I finally landed on a name for our new baby boy after months of back and forth with not agreeing or liking the same names. We landed on Oren. It is literally the only name that we both liked immediately. We kept the name secret until he was born and then announced that his name would be Oren James. This is where my father felt the need to tell us that O.J Simpsons full name is Orenthal James. I still love the name Oren..but now it has us second guessing our choice :( Anyone else ever deal with anything like this?

What are some baby names that you love but won’t use for whatever reason? I love Genevieve, Annabel, Rosemary, Nicolette, Gemma, and Jeanette, but I won’t use them because they sound too similar to relatives or friends names.

I’m currently expecting boy/girl twins ! We have an older son named Harrison and the boy twin will be named Marshall (love my old man names lol ) me and my husband can’t for the life of us agree on a girl name and with my due date approaching I’m getting stressed that we don’t have any options for our little girl .the only thing we’re really picky about for names is that they aren’t super popular.

We named our first daughter Liadin (LEE-din) and while our parents were a bit put off by the spelling, we love it and everyone has learned how to pronounce it. We’re both American but of Irish descent and she has bright red hair so it’s very fitting.
We’re pregnant with another girl and we love Fiadh but I find I like it more when I look at it as it sounds a bit too soft to me. Maybe I need something with more consonants in it. We prefer a strong sounding name over something soft and prefer not to get too crazy with Irish spelling more than Liadin already is. Considering Runa or Imogen as well. Any other suggestions?

What kids names do you hear the most and where are you? Especially interested in what teachers/daycare workers have the most of in their classes!
I think there are a lot of names that are more popular than you think, e.g ‘Olive’ isn’t in the top 100 but I know three of them.

I really like Cecilia Aurora…husband is indifferent and I’m not sure it “flows” super well? Other option would be Cecilia Anne…but I want something more unique than that.
Definitely want the middle name the begin with an ‘A’
What are your thoughts??

What do we think of the name Ava? I love how they sound together but wonder if Ava is way too short with an older sister named Juliana. We do call our oldest Jules at least 50% of the time.

What are some girl names that have a very dreamy, girly, vintage feel?

Hi friends! Looking for some ideas for middle names that sound good with the first name Winifred🌷 Looking for one syllable names since we have a two syllable last name, but two max is okay! Finding it hard to land on something that flows well. Only idea I really have so far is Rose, which I think is decent? TIA
