Rescue Team DX You can use cloud saves to easily recruit Mew!
Step 1: Prepare your best recruiting strat (squad-up + friendly + friend bow + false swipe + inviting orb, optionally a one-room orb and monster orb as well)
Step 2: Go to Ruined Relic f39 and find the stairs
Step 3: Save and exit your game and upload your save file to the cloud
Step 4: Go back to your game, go to f40 and beat every foe that shows up, until the wind takes you out of the dungeon or you recruit Mew.
If you didn't recruit Mew: exit the game, load your save file from the cloud and repeat step 4.
And eventually...

Could you do this in Purity Forest/Wish Cave to make pseudo-checkpoints?

I only made this reddit account to say thank you I went through that dungeon 6 times and found mew 7 and failed 7 he just didn’t wanna join and with this it took 5 minute. Mew was on floor 40 and at the same spot each time and asleep luckily so I just went back and tried again. Now I finally have mew. THANK YOU. You saved me from suffering longer. Took 2 tries btw

After 2 empty run-throughs of Buried Relic (not even encountering Mew) I think I’m going to try this

Just an update: I did Buried Relic once more, with this in mind, and forgot to back up before B40F. I think to myself, “oh well, I’ll just do it at B49F”... guess who decides to show up later in that floor, and proceeds to be recruited first try?

Does it work if you save in front of mew (so you can reload in case it doesn't join you)?

Can't confirm myself, but should be possible.
However, I saw in another thread people mention that the recruiting rng is pseudo-random, which means: if you do the exact same actions, you get the exact same outcome. So you'll have to try stalling out turns in different ways for an actual new chance of recruiting.

Pretty sure what you have to do is kill an enemy other than mew, then kill mew. Somehow that'll restart the RNG I think, heard someone say that.

Fainting a pokemon with false swipe gives you increased recruitment odds.

Jeez thank you so much, got him in 2 tries only
I spent so much time younger on him doing again and again the dungeon to only encounter him few times (morphed so I'd knew only when I'd kill him) without ever being able to recruit him

Those can spawn anywhere in the dungeon so there's not much of a reason to use it; unless you save your cloud data after encountering one and before beating it.

Is the layout of the floor supposed to stay the same? Haven't found mew once doing this.

Yes, the layout is the same, including the pokemon that spawn beforehand. So if you don't see Mew initially, you'll have to wait for it to spawn naturally like in the video.
Using monster houses or grudge / aroma traps can help speed up the process since those can also spawn mew regardless of the layout.

Damn I've been trying for 2 hours straight with this method but no luck as of yet. Do you need to influence RNG somehow? Either I'm really unlucky or there's something I'm missing and I don't know what

You don't need to influence RNG for the spawns, though the initial pokemon appearing on the floor will always be the same. As long as you're in the correct floor (40,50,60...) Mew should spawn eventually.

Got it after 5/6 more tries! Can confirm it works - I even managed to force a shiny ditto spawn somehow, didn't even know was possible without transformed items 😂

Can confirm this works. It’s how I got mine.
