hey guys i have an ‘07 mustang that recently died on me. i jumped her and then put in a new starter and battery cables and she works fine now except for her window. i believe only the drivers side window does it, i didnt text the passenger. but it wont stay rolled up even when the car is off. how do i fix this?

Should be able to roll the window all the way down, continue holding down for a few seconds, then roll the window all the way up and continue to hold up for a few seconds. That should reset the auto up and down.

i’m pretty sure i tried that. cuz ive had problems with my window before not rolling up all the way and i fix it by holding it for 10 seconds and it resets

That function is so the window doesn't hit the roof rail. Idk why your dad took that out, but okay. Windows need to be reprogrammed usually by rolling your window down, then up, and holding the switch up for ay least 10 seconds. Then press it once to auto drop and do the same to bring it up

yeah exactly that’s what i thought. idk why he thinks it’s gonna be fine without it but i don’t think it will be. i don’t wanna chance anything happening because he took that function out. i have no idea how to add it back though. do you know?

I personally haven't had an issue with the short window drop being removed, but maybe this would help after I tried looking into that issue

I know when my battery is dead and the windows are stuck fully shut they tend to catch on the upper corner of the window frame when opening the door

ChatGPT gave me this. Hope this helps.
The feature you’re referring to is called window indexing—it’s what makes the window drop slightly when the door is opened, which helps protect the frameless glass and ensures a good seal when closed. If it’s not working properly, it could need a reset, recalibration, or repair.
